God you people...

Which people? It was one person's comment.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

As usual, you know just how to say precisely the wrong thing at the wrong time.

I don't think he said the wrong thing.

You're right...let me rephrase...god, some of you people.

:)

Have a fantastic weekend guys...I had a poopy day at work...hearing a moron flame me for absolutely nothing doesn't help...ahh well...I take a deep breath, and listen to Brian Eno.

Peace.

I don't think you should charge for a demo--however, if they want to charge L1...so be it. If anything, that rids my pockets of pennies.

Do you have a demo of your camera? I thought it looked neat, but I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do with it, so moved on.

{why yes, I have been waiting weeks, maybe a month to ask this question; thanks for finally saying something that could lead to the question :)}

I use to charge the 1L$ for hair demos, probably for the first couple of months I was in business.

Earned sometimes L$300-L$500 per day. Certainly nothing to sneeze at.

Then thought it would be better for my customers if they could just have free demos.

Demos take me about an additional 30 secs to 1 minutes to make (attach DEMO prim, change perms add the world DEMO to the name, take into inventory..rinse repeat) *IF* the grid is cooperating.

I have demo shoes, and I'm in the process of making DEMO's for my more expensive gowns. Yes it is taking quite a bit of work, but again it's a matter of customer service.

I'd much rather have happy customers, then the small income that I would get from demos.

If I'm looking at a skin, I have no problem paying L$1 since I'm going to turn around and spend quite a bit if the demo works for me.

L$5 for a skin demo? Um...no thanks.

Are you his alt or something? At some point this just begins to look like a game. WTF did he say? Huh? Bloody comedians, surrounded by bloody comedians.

It's tricky. I would have a demo, however, the studio is on a parcel that doesn't allow scripts (unless the script is of the group)...so, that would be useless to give a demo right? Do they buy the demo for $L0 and take it to another parcel?

What I encourage is contact me via IM or use my dingie bell--I'm usually online, and will help immediately with a demo...

:)

Thanks for the kudos.

I'm beginning to think it's a game too--see you guys call me crazy when I say that people pre-judge a post by the poster who's...posting it...

But this is proof. Finally I'm not feeling like I'm going crazy by calling wolf.

I charge L$1 for some skin demos for tracking purposes. I have an Excel file that I dump my transaction history into, and it gives me a running total for the year of how many demos I'm giving out based on a number search. L$1 sales also show up in the little blue drop box in the top right of the SL window. It's convenient to know who is sampling what in real time. If the product is over a year old, I set it to L$0. More specific product I can do a name search on. Some stuff is pretty much locked into the L$0 demo amount because people are trying out 20-30 samples at a time. I don't think they would for L$1.

I may be confused, but doesn't 'transaction history' track $0 dollar amounts too?

What the hell did I say? Can't I have an opinion...isn't that the point of this whole thing? I was answering the OP's question--and in a humorous way also. God you people...

You're an idiot...how about that? Is that the right thing to say? The right time?

Oooh, aren't we defensive. Usually a sign of insecurity. And I'd expect more than simply calling me an idiot even from you, Michael. How disappointing.

A hint of rather superior indifference, perhaps.

OK, I'll take that revision. :)

I also didn't have a problem with the original comment....you have my permission to dislike the idea of charging for demos. Don't you feel special? ;)

Please forgive me, I worded that incorrectly.

Bloody incompetent comedians who couldn't get a laugh if . . .

I love humor, I live for humor . . . but not incompetent comedians.

Back the fuck off Chas. He made ONE comment which seemed perfectly normal to me.

Even the paranoid can be right some of the time (or those with a feeling of persecution).

No, you've behaved badly for no discernible reason.

There are no clique rules to break because there is no clique. :)

I'm more interested in what Excel tracks than I am in what the transaction history tracks. It's what I can do with the information (varied pricing included) once inside Excel that really matters.

What was wrong?

I think........ but might be totally wrong ......... it was the reference to lightening his pockets off pennies (can't check the exact quote due to 503 reasons).
I think .... but may be completely wrong ......... that this was potentially considered somewhat insensitive in view of the many pennies being extracted from various pockets due to the monkeys decision to charge Europeans extra for some reason or other i'm not sure about.

Now, play nice people
