There are dozens of scripted products that track avatars in one way or another. There's no magic in any of them; they're all based on the same handful of LSL calls, and ultimately face the same limitations intentionally built-in to the functions exposed to scripts to preserve privacy and limit performance impact. Colette's point about bots rather than scripts, however, is painfully valid. Even Ginko's could probably get back on its feet if it unleashed the BnT army of bots to track everyone's whereabouts across the entire grid and extort "hush money" to keep those whereabouts secret for those willing to pay for privacy.
