I've not had any problems so far ... and it seems that "offer TP from profile" is back, which is good.

I'd upgrade that to .. fantastic!

pain to have to open friends when you're already IM-ing someone ;)

When I just installed it, it crashed directly from the login-screen.

I have updated my graphic drivers to the latest version and I can login as normal again.... that means, I had to change all the graphic settings again to my likings.

But so far it looks good to me...

Still ruthed

After all last night's fun, uninstalling and reinstalling various versions of the client and messing about, I can now see my inventory.

Hooray!

BUT - my avatar is ruthed and completely naked, and I cannot change her appearance at all.
Every time I try the system tells me I cannot change her appearance because it has not fully loaded.

I spent a great deal of time and money on making her appearance as I want it, and I do NOT want her to look like a prepubescent barbie-style teenager. Actually Barbie looks better than that... Rebake textures doesn't work.

It seems to be common practice that the (paying!) users become the beta testers. And I am sick and tired of being a beta tester. I wanted to play last night; my husband (who also plays, and we both have premium accounts) wanted to take my avy dancing... have you ever tried dancing with a wig and a pair of wings? Looks cute for about three seconds :P and that was all we could see of me. But I think I might have preferred that look to this morning's. I dare not take my avy anywhere - and I have business to do.

I'm off to play something that works, but I feel that I have been bilked yet again.

Unless anyone can suggest a workaround....

The 1.14 viewer seems to work fine for me. I have noticed that the colouration for prims illuminated using the 'light' feature seems to have changed a bit. I have alot of lighting in my retail builds that uses a warm yellow colour for the light. Every one that I checked today appears to have changed to a hard, cold lemon-yellow hue. Not quite the effect I want.

Has anyone else noticed any changes with lighting and specifically coloured lighting?

Haven't seen it yet because I'm still using the old viewer. I'm in the middle of a series of photography shoots and am trying to get through that before I do anything that will change graphics!

But there is a note about light property changes in the blog entry that details the specific bug fixes and features in the new viewer.

my avatar is darker and the lighting is different from lights. LIghts seem to work better. But everyone created certain coloured skins for the previous viewer and they colours are now much different my guy didnt used to have a sun tan...

I have two other avatar skins err that I paid a lot for that I use and I'm afraid to check those just in case. One is supposed to be japanese i'm worried that he might be like a complete pasty yellow or something now? lol

Oh please please please don't let that happen! I have an expensive (for me) multi-pack of Asian skins. If they're off-color I'm in a world of hurt because I'm only halfway through photo shoots using those skins on a number of different shapes. All of which are supposed to match at the end of the project.

Can anyone recommend some nice virtual bridges? I may need to jump off of one soon....

The 'new viewer' is only a small advance from the FirstLook viewer I have been using now for some months through the various upgrades. Some things have changed for the better and certain bugs have been fixed. I can't say I like the intermitent crashes, or the stalling that happens every 5-10 seconds.
The only problems I had at loggin, was - rebuilding my cache, needed restart to complete, and having all the bells and whistles turnned up full, causing huge lag to the whole process. I used Preferences at the login stage to turn them down to something more sensible. I guess LL thought that by checking out I had a very powerful GC I surely must want everything turnned on full!

The next stage for me that will be worth while, is getting SL running under both processors, and remove this irritating constant stuttering of movement. One thing I have noticed more and more of late, is the time dilation reading jumps about more, sim pings (even on a class 5 server) go as high as 10,000msecs, which is equivilant to a trans atlantic phone call of 30 years ago. My own User ping remains below 200msecs for the majority of the time, indicating its LL server end.
