#1 You know how you thought LL is on your side? Read these archives some more.
#2 Definitely pay it forward!! Remember too: the noob you help today could be your RL boss. #3 Everyone has fun in SL in different ways. If they do not stop you from your own enjoyment, do not stop them from theirs. #4 The more you annoy whoever-shall-not-be-named of your era, the more correct you are. Don't sweat the small stuff. Yes, it really is small stuff, you'll recognize this after the crisis has passed. If it wasn't small stuff, please ignore this message

Heya there, Jaycatt! So true! Almost every situation ends up being "small stuff"... some are "medium stuff", a sparse few are "big stuff"... but yes, overall, the sky is usually not falling and DOOOOM is not usually approaching.
Overall, it seems Bill & Ted had it right all along... "Be excellent to each other.", "Party on, dudes! " ![]() _____________________

I was thinking (after seeing the "Final Signatures" thread), that's a good point.. the will be archived after all, why not make the best of that? Yo, Cybin. I dig your positive attitude about the demise of these forums (goddamit). Thanks _____________________

Don't sweat the petty things, pet the sweaty things instead.
Not everyone plays SL like you do, and they're not required to. The last option is always "pie". All good things pass, but not everything passed is good... like gas. Yes, we're the old timers your mommy warned you about. Once upon a time, Phil had a dream... and we've been stuck in it ever since! Have they fixed the banlines yet? Nothing will happen that can't be handled with tact and respect. Despite what you may think, girls like to look (and point and snicker and laugh). Never, ever teleport naked! It's called a box.. detach from hand, drop on ground, open it.. duh! Read these forums, they're smart.. No, there's no cliffnotes, jeeez.. As much as you like them, your hangups and prejudices won't work in SL.. it's only pixels! Be creative and continue what we started, but don't screw it up !! no pressure... Yes, we had a teen grid and a lot less rules than you do ( neener neener ![]() No, bling is still not cool. Hey noob, would YOU sleep with yourself looking like that ?!? By the time you read this, I'll be old.. send me L$ for Geritol plz. Have fun with that if it makes you happy, just don't cry to me when you go blind ![]() Welcome to Second Life... now assume the position. If it ceases to be fun, Y3R D0in 1t R0nG !!! _____________________

Quick Tip:
Easy way to make new friends: Check Events for DJs playing a club with the style of music you like. It won't take long before you've made at least a new friend or three. _____________________

When you first try out Second Life, don't invest too much of yourself into it. Try it out first with a disposable avatar. It's a free account after all (or at least it was in my day when we had to teleport uphill both ways barefoot because our shoes were in an anatomically improbable place).
Then once you start to learn the ropes and get a feeling for what you want - say in a month or so -- then start your for real serious main account. If you invest too much effort and personality into your first account you might wind up stuck with a cheesy soap opera name like mine. Oh - and once your curiosity is satisfied, get out of Zindra and explore some other places. There's a lot of really cool stuff that is not about sex. Zindra will still be there. If you can't find something you like, build it. If you are shy and want to make friends and don't know what to say, flatter people a little. People enjoy talking about themselves in both worlds, but stay away from real life location, age, gender, and that stuff. That's asking for a quick mute. That's all for now. . _____________________

Never forget that behind that collection of animated pixels in front of you there sits another human being at another computer somewhere in the world. They love, laugh, cry, hurt and feel just like you do.

Another thread got me thinking...
02-08-2010 08:51
If you find that someone is being disruptive or breaking the ToS.. then, submit an Abuse Report from in-world (Help > Report Abuse). Submitting a ticket about the issue won't help, and if it does, it wouldn't be as immediate as an AR response would be.
(and no, you will not be contacted about the AR to let you know what happened. So, there may be times when it appears nothing has been done, but it has and you just wouldn't see the results personally.. such as the other person getting a warning) - Live Chat is a great resource for other in-world issues. They will do their best to resolve whatever issue you present in Live Chat; however, some issues need to be handled through a ticket.. this can be for a multitude of reasons. - Have a feature suggestion? Submit a Jira! (https://jira.secondlife.com/ ) Then ask friends to have a look to see if they want to vote/comment on your idea. These don't always get implemented, but there have been many suggestions (not that i know any off the top of my head) that have gone on to be implemented in some way or another. _____________________

People come to SL for lots of reasons. Some are here to work. Some are here to escape from a busy life, just looking for some peace. Some are here to escape a humdrum life, just looking for some excitement.
Some want to find people who seem exotic, who speak different languages and live different lives. Some want to find people who are just like them. So let's all be tolerant of each other's escapes, quests, passions, and ambitions. It may be "Your World, Your Imagination" ... but everyone's imagination is different! _____________________

demand he wear a condom. Pep (It's probably true anyway, but by that point females' emotions tend to get messed up and they dislike confrontation.) _____________________

Always carry two paper bags with you if you are looking for casual sex: one to put over her head so you can't see how ugly she is, and one to put over your own head.
