From: DoteDote Edison The den. No need for the ability to stream to my TV, it's already the primary monitor for my computer via HDMI. It's a 57" Samsung DLP HDTV and I sit relaxed in a lazboy recliner about 7' away with a full 5.1 Yamaha surround setup. The keyboard and mouse are wired, but the USB hub is hidden next to the chair for discreet connection. Soon as the new wireless USB hits stores, I'll plug into that. wow...sounds like a sweet setup!! is there any kind of a lag between your keyboard and the 57" HDTV? I bet that must be an awesome visual. Glad everyone is enjoying the thread!

From: bilbo99 Emu I'm in Caledon .. stealin yours! ! In actuality, two places mostly. 1) My corporate office. Am here right now. LCD widescreen on a table next to my desk. I play SL from here when the phones are slow, too. It's good to own teh company... 2) Home, in kind of a 'side room' that adjoins the kitchen and livingroom. Desk has LCD widescreen, mousie, speakers and a printer on it. Not much else at the moment. I'm not a big fan of matter-based possessions. Like Bono says, buy less crap! You'll live richer.

We have about 10 machines in my house, and four active members of SL.
I personally use my laptop with wireless most often, usually from the living room but also sometimes from the dining room, kitchen, porch, or bedroom.

No wireless here. Just old fashioned cables... feeding with a extreme nice 20Mb ADSL2 connection . Morwen.

Living Room.
No mega display here but I have one 19" monitor and one 17" monitor running from one PC. I use SL to "play" at Landlord, building and meeting up with my RL/SL girlfriend. I find two monitors useful. One is usually browsing the web, posting here, email, etc while the other is running SL. At this exact moment I am waiting for a friend to login so I sit admiring the table I finished this afternoon.
I am lucky enough to live alone so no interruptions most of the time.
[Note to self. Buy new chair for girlfriend. Complained about not being able to sit at PC for 14 hours on Saturday, only managed 12]

Complained about not being able to sit at PC for 14 hours on Saturday, only managed 12] O_o Are ya SURE you want your gf to sit at a PC for 14 hours!? I spent Saturday climbing reeeeaallly big rocks for the second weekend in a row. It was awesome to get away from teh internetz... reaching the top of one, I kinda lay back in the sun's rays, and tried to imagine all of cyberspace all around me on weak wireless... And then I forgot all about that and went for the bag of chicken. Mmmm.

My main desktop PC is in my personal office. I also have a laptop that usually lives in the bedroom, and have been known to use SL from bed. I also sometimes use SL from a computer lab at my university (but I make sure to stay away from the mature areas LOL).

From a miserably uncomfortable corner of my living room, too close to a large south-facing window, and over a sketchy DSL connection. My chair is hopelessly un-comfy as well. I also am forced to share my last working laptop with my SL-addicted husband, since he broke two laptops and my Mac was damaged in transit overseas.
I'm always accepting donations for the "Save Daisy's Computer from Ringo" fund.

We have what Ive started calling 'geek central' where my husband has his 4 computers, and I have my desktop and station for the laptop for when I am in there. Typically though I work with the laptop on the coffee table in the living room. Its one of those that you can pull the top up like a tray, so I can be all comfy on my couch. I wish we had wireless though, instead I have this huge grey 'trip the kids' connection.
