After relogging, all the upload options are greyed out in the file menu.

Everything is broken

I have spent a lot of time around farmers and I think it's one of the last occupations that allows for thinking time. I'd always hear great creative thoughts and interesting philosophising from farmers as they had time to think about everything. Our world would be richer if more people had that time to cogitate.

Experiencing absolutely NO LUCK with:
- basic search
- world map search
- TPs
- image loading
- getting profile OR group info to load.

Yep seems the database enhancements crapped out and now some basic functions are not working.....map....TP....search...

Guess we will have to wait until AM for LL staff to get things going again...or a quick server reboot whichever the case may be

the cycle is simple:

We: grid down for UPDATE -> when it's back again everything is broken. The new functions announced earlier don't work, but also TP, profiles, inventory, IM friends lists, etc...
Th: grid working 10% / everybody is unhappy
Fr: grid down for bug fix -> half of the bugs introduced wednesday are half fixed. 5 new bugs added.
Sa: grid works, let's say 20%. It's weekend, a new bug which really screws up everyone is discovered, but of course there is no support or bug fixes from ll...
Su: same as saturday, just a little worse
Mo: same as sunday, a little worse. Still no news from ll
Tu: there is a new blog entry with something like "Wednesady: the grid will be down! we are gonna put a incredible new function in SL: twisted tri-color prim with user defined shaders support".

Dont you just love the silence from the Lindens? Before you could get live help to page a linden to make them aware of it and sure enough about 2hrs later someone would be looking at it. Now all we get is an automated response (and NO follow up) and nothing.

They think that by being silent that people wont notice. As PER USUAL there little tweaks to the database ALWAYS screw it up. We all know how complex networks can be and everyone understands issues happen but the silence just shows me a few things.

I can't do ANYTHING. It's such a pain, I just rented a new house and i'm STUCK in it with no furniture... all I can do is IM people. I can't TP anywhere, not even Linden Locations, I can't search for anything... i've relogged so many times. I can't even look at the map.

The only solution I found for TPing is if you know where to go, typing the region and co-ordinates when you log in. But be damned if i'm going to do that all night lol! Specially if i'm trying to search for something..

It was odd, everything was working fine and then suddenly BLAH it all stopped at once. My lindens won't load either.

It IS being worked on. The Lindens are up, got out of bed and are trying to fix it Regardless of the cynicism here, they DO care if the game works.

For what I can see, I really don't know what they REALLY DO care...
for sure it's not customer support, nor making SL stable instead of adding and adding and adding new functions wich are mainly source of problems.

Who cares whether they care or not? No one gauges the flight crew's level of caring as the plane plows into the mountain. SL is not functional and their customer service department is non-existent. At this point, all I care about is making sure I don't pay a monthly membership fee or any land tier until they fix this disaster they call Second Life.

Cynicism??? Oh puleeeez!! I think it more of a realistic, yet jaundiced, view of past performance which has been, to borrow Corey Linden's term, "sub optimal". In an attempt to define "sub optimal" in non profane or non obscene terms, let's say sub optimal = verrry crummy.

IF LL is ruly salivating over the big corporate/ business money comming in, I strongly suggest they get this thing kickstarteed and working decently pronto. We unwashed minions of the customer class will tolerate it until the competition inevitably arrives, but the guys with the big bucks, WON'T. Its just that simple.

They need to redesign the viewer from scratch. This is bullshizzle.

I am just POSITIVE that the big business community is endlessly impressed with SL's gried stability and the efficient way it is working. This latest train wreck of theirs will absolutely create another long line of wealthy corporate clients eager to become "in world" participants.

I honestly believe "the community" wants SL to work, but then what do I know? When I signed on last night and couldn't really search for anything, teleport anywhere and was stuck someplace I didn't want to be I was SOOOOO grateful and thankful that LL is responding to the "community's" desires to dig out and eradicate all things "broadly offensive" and their willingness to staff 24/7 to deal with reports of "broadly offensive" behavior, verbiage, products and -I suppose - thoughts that these MINOR performance issues just pale in comparision.

Just a suggestion here, LL, from someone who is obviously too stupid to understand all the issues and probably too stupid to EVEN think about being on SL:

1. No new free accounts until the performance problems are fixed.

2. No new "features" until the performance problems are fixed.

3. No new witch hunts until the performance problems are fixed.

Its called, "prioritization." Look it up!! Some companies actually do that!!
