But remember by loading it up and giving it your SL name and password, is against the LL TOS so user beware!
If so, then giving my SL name and password to Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Opera is a TOS violation.

Yeah that couldn't have been the real CopyBot on SLX.

I seriously doubt it. If they put CopyBot up for sale on SLX...why would they make it into a regular virus when thier aim must be either:

1. To stop the stores in SL from making any money by enabling ANYbody to just take what they want like invincible thieves.

2. To test, then sell CopyBot v.2 (or whatever) and sell it for a lot of L$

Of course these is just my guesses as to thier motive though. I guess they could be sellin it in a Anarchist/Anti-"Capitalist" theory...

Which in layman's terms would be like a gun-runner selling a case of timebombs to gangsters while it's armed and ticking. i.e. selling them thier own means of destruction.

I didn't create it, I'm helping sell it. It asks for you password because that's how the program works, it will not be able to log you in without it. READ the notecard that's with it, it says to make an alt to use. Do you think the DMCA reports are nothing???

any program/object/app that asks for your password is to be avoided and report immediately, as its prolly a phishing(?) scam. why is this "resident" still on SL? why is the person selling it still on SL? its amazing what the lindens allow certain people to get away with.

While some of this is true, remember libSL is an attempt at an alternative client, and to access SL it's going to need something to log in with.

Look at a hacker complaining about lies. It hurts when something hinders the sale of your products, doesn't it? Guys, this software was developed by a hacker and asks you for your account data and password! The phishing attempt alone should show everyone what kind of software we're talking about.

Ok, this is where i draw the line, the people who use a pre-compiled program are know as... get this...SCRIPT KIDDIES! please use the right term from now on.

Wasn't there a blog entry about a phishing website lately? This was shut down pretty soon, as I remember.
Well, here we have a content duping tool with a full permission hack plus a phishing function, and LL doesn't do anything about it! How ridiculous is that? Not to speak of the potential virus danger. Do you really trust a guy who sells tools to rip off other residents enough to install his software?

and actually no I dont, which is why I downloaded the entire SVN and went from there. Read my other post on the Copybot, Seperating fact from fiction.
