I'm sure everyone knows about this by now, but has everyone actually signed it?
There's still time.
I know I'll be IMing the link to everyone when the grid comes back up. The more people that shout, the better chance we've got of being heard.

I don't think so, Brent. And I think that increased stipend is a mistake.

I certinaly hope that increase isnt a mistake. With a 500L weekly stippend a premium can rent a lil spot to call home and get an outfit (or most of one) a week...toss in give out a tip or two to a club and you have a reason to be premium again. I really hope they leave it, but if it was their choice they would have mentioned it no doubt lol

Re: one subject contained in the letter.
Beyond the usual SL glitches, I have never had any problems with builds other than getting texture stretches to stay put sometimes. Apart from lag and crashes, assuming I can get into build, it always works as it should. The only occasional prim drift I've had is with attachments. An ear-ring or necklace following behind me at waist level is a minor annoyance - my ponytail a bit more worrying. And it must be a lot worse for the guys!!!! |

How interesting that George W. Bush signed the letter..lol. Next time (I assume there will be next times because this was successful in getting LL's attention) may I recommend putting the joined date and the payment info on file information next to each name. That way people will know it's legitimate and not 300 people making alts. Another form of proof would be to have everyone that signed the letter to put "Project Letter" in the about section in their profile. I think this was a nice, organized, and professional approach. I just question the legitimacy of the signatures and what positive results will come from a town hall meeting with Cory. Hopefully there will not be more unfulfilled promises.

Another form of proof would be to have everyone that signed the letter to put "Project Letter" in the about section in their profile. Why not simply have everyone sign it in world? Click the button, your name goes up. Simple, effective, and saves someone having to wade through thousands of profiles ![]() |

um, Not that simple...you see, SuezanneC found this thread meaning we'd probably have to wade through thousands of Suezanne's avatar clones

Methinks you give this experiment in political action a little too much credit. The improvements to the AR system have long been in the works. Not sure how one could possibly link the increased stipend to the letter either.
It was simply a well-written, respectful, and candid letter, and it seems to have been very well received by Linden Lab, but don't expect it to be any sort of catalyst to instant change or fixes. I do hope that it inspires Linden Lab to evaluate some priorities, make an honest effort to better mesh their priorities for the product with ours, as well as continue to improve their ability to communicate with us. More townhalls, more indepth blog posts, etc. Because of Project Open Letter, they already have done the AR system welly again and have increased Stipend. |

The only way to validate signatures in this case would have been to ask participants to "sign" in world by clicking an object scripted to send their name off to the website. Although I support the intent of the project, and it certainly was successful, as an attention-getter at least, I do think the signature gathering process is wide open to fraud. Some pretty big names in that list. Did they really sign? Not that it matters, it worked
