i remember it was actually a feature request, and many people were in favour of it. From: Egon Rothschild again i read that "they appearantly indicated that there was overwhelming community demand for voice" ... who EXACTLY are "they"?
i for one was never asked.
nor do i ever remember seeing a questionaire from LL about such a thing.
i have many enlish-is-not-my-first-language friends here in sl. many have good english reading and writing skills. but many admit to not being able to understand spoken english very well. or say that their spoken english is almost incomprehensible.
my fear that voice will be way of making them second class sl residents.. that is, ppl using voice and expecting EVERYONE to use it too.
and of course, sl has been a level playing field for those unable to speak at all. so much for a level playing field. |

I would not upgrade to use voice.
I will not use voice period.
This poll is interesting from a speculation point of view, however I do not think that LL will ever make voice a premium option only.
I do not think making it would gel with LL's enthusiasm for voice, they seem to want everyone to use it all the time. I think they are no more likely to limit voice to premium than they are to limit sculpties or windlight to premium accounts only.
In my opinion they see all of the above features now (or soon to be) as part of the core functionality of SL, sure they are optional and even with voice some land owners have to pay but everyone everywhere can use one-to-one voice for free.

let's see...i cant build, i cant move, my hair disappears after each tp(so far still clothed), my inventory is doing a houdini, and reapearign with duplicates( not a bad thing but i just cleaned it up  ! ), and im a premium already.....hmmmmmm....
