Poll: What’s Sleep?

Speak for yourself LMAO everyone knows what goes on in RL when you cannot leave the house due to ice and snow on the ground hehehe!!!

Wow...some real die hards in here. 36-40 hours....I salute you! I usually get by with about 6-6 1/2 hours of sleep a night during the week and on Saturday nights. Saturday morning, though, thanks to a great husband (and SL partner) I can sleep in and am able to get about 8-9. I actually do all right with that amount. But I have 2 cups of coffee every morning and usually 2 diet cokes throughout the day plus water. And no, not caffeine free. I'm never able to spend as much time on SL as I would like to thanks to two little people who call me mom...lol. But the longest I've been on at a stretch was 6 hours, which was the Sunday before Memorial Day when my partner and I were having a sploder competition with another couple at our favorite club, The Parrot Bay! It was so much fun, and so much joking, that even at 3 a.m. i didn't want to log off. (BTW, my partner and I "won" the competition...I think...was a little tired at the point so not really sure. But, hey, it sounds good, doesn't it?)

Yeah, but I can only do that every half an hour or so...and I usually get tired after 5 or 6 times.

I generally only get 4 hours of sleep per night with or without SL, during the week I am usually on 8-9 hrs with little cat naps while I wander unguided, usually ito a lake or corner.

Weekends I am on continuously from the Fri evening until Monday morning. There is is always a party to go to, a shop to visit, a cool new landmark to check out. My friends know if they say hi and I dont answer right away just give me an hour or so and then I will back full of energy returning the message.

well now, is this about how many hours we sleep or how many hours we're on SL?

i sleep very little for some time, like 3-4 hours and then after 5 or 6 days doing this i can be in bed more than 9-10 hours because of the brain exhaustion.
i'm usually a lot of time on the computer - sometimes in SL i get logged off for inactivity - there i usually build and texture - about 12-16 hours daily doing stuff on and off SL, i'm a multi-task person so i browse, blog, search a lot of stuff and read a lot, paint and slice and model. Occasionally i get off the computer to make some meals and take a bath - being a freelancer requires a lot of discipline - which i don't have. I try to get out of the house at least once a day, sometimes i just go pay bills, sometimes i drive up to the country side and catch some sun.

if i want to sleep more i can't. i go to bed and my head goes way fast with all the ideas and stuff i want to do and all the noise inside my ears won't let me sleep. i wish i could have more time to learn and do stuff.

so it's 4 a.m. now prolly i should get some sleep

I've done near 48 hours straight once (then slept near 24hours straight too) when I first got hooked and several 24 hour sessions, many no sleep nights between workdays too, I have no problems with SL so guess it is possible to stay logged in , but I usually swapped to alts every now and then, though some times I been playing 2 at once, that gets confusing.
6 months later I'm back to 3-6 hours of SL a night, maybe 12 hours on weekends.

A guy in Korea died a few months back at an internet cafe, he had been playing online games there for 76 hours.

If I don't get my 7 or 8 hours of sleep, I will feel aweful.

On normal working day I have to get out at 6am. Mostly I get home at 6pm. Add dinner-time, family-time, time for the horses and dogs... and add some other things to that, there is not much time left for SL during the working week.

Anyway, as said, if I would cut down my sleeping time I would slowly turn into a wreck. Also, I need to look fresh for my work. Customers don't want a sleepy sales person in front of them.

Same here, Morwen. I run my dad's Dutch office and have to be sharp and alert, although sometimes I do stay online too long but that's because I have a day off after. I to need my beauty sleep or I'll look horrible...so for me...sleep is important.

I started spending more and more time. As I learn more things.

Now when I first got on it was creating my "myself" that took so long. At least that was my excuse.....Now I am just having fun. Shopping mostly and hanging out meeting verl;y interesting people..

No crashes the whole time. That's when I take my potty breaks and rehydrate!!

I'd hate to admit how many times I pulled 12-20ish hours at a go when I was in deep on a project I wanted done. As for sleeping I can go with little sleep for a few days in a row, but I need to power sleep every 3 or 4 days to make up for it, or else I get really to acting really nutty.

A normal work day consists of hearing the alarm go off at 6... getting up at 7... getting my coffee and logging in for about 30 minutes. Get ready for the day ahead and then off to work... I work close by my home and I get 90 minutes lunchtime which is spent at home in world.... then back to work until 5:30 pm.

After work I'm logged in until I go to bed at 1 or 2 am.. sometimes on weekends I've been known to pull all nighters in world if I get involved in doing something. I think my longest stretch was 24 hours in game.

My boyfriend is in a 6 hr difference time zone so often times, just when I'm thinking of getting some sleep on the weekend, he's logging back in so I forfeit the sleep for a few more hours. I know I've been up to long when I start getting these little electrical zaps inside my head. Then I try to get one good 8 hours of sleep to regroup.

I rarely have crashing problems. Only that one time two upgrades ago, but after I upgraded my graphix card drivers, its been mostly ok. It does tend to get a bit laggy if I'm on for long stretches though.

I used to pull in long hours of grinding in other online games, and did when I first got hooked on SL.....but that didnt last long at all. I may have left my AV in game, but I wander away far too often. Shoot, with my kids Im lucky to get 5 minutes uninterupted, but the time I am done with them SL is moody and wont play nicely and, even though I get 8-10 hours a night now, Im ready for a nap! I like meh sleep!!

I sleep when I can,
4 or 5 hrs, think I'm a roadie, do RL and inet/SL burning candle at both ends.
