Cheers to us All!

Everybody. Every single one of you, both frequent posters, and relative unknowns, who took the time to stop and answer MY questions, to help ME. You didn't have to take time out of your busy day to do that. But you DID. That is the sense of community that I am really going to miss. And I did my best to do the same to answer every question I saw that I could contribute some knowledge or insight into - to do my part to give back to the community.
I raise my glass in a toast to us all! WE ROCK!!!!

Maureen Boccaccio, for being a faithful friend to all and unremittingly cheerful. And knowing so many wonderful places to shop! ConductorX Nieuport, for being a true friend and gentleman. Brenda Connolly, for her panties, her acerbic wit, and her welcome to a shy noob. Chris Norse, for his stalwart stand for liberty and personal responsibility. Marianne McCann, for being the kind of kid the world needs more of. Dakota Tebaldi, for being a kid like Marianne. Imnotgoing Sideways, for being the kind of kid that makes their parents throw their hands up in despair HoneyBear Lilliehook, for being an indefatigable entrepreneur, a glamour queen, and a helpful soul besides. Ann Launay, for her sexy Neko pinup pics Ann O'Toole, for her all-too-often justified paranoia Yosef O'Kelly, for his smooth and sexy snake oil Ghosty Kips and Elora Lunasea, for the courage to become the forum's first human/llama couple, and to pioneer the wearing of food as haute couture. Trout Recreant, for being the Lawyer Everybody Loves, and the funniest guy in the universe. Okiphia Rayna, for her creativity and courage in putting her personal life right out in public. Kelli May, for inventing the best ever forum title, "Karmachanic" Love/Hate Hastings, for being a tower of strength Lexxi Gynoid, for her sexy innocence and her endless curiosity in exploring herself and SL. Michael Bigwig, for his pompous opinions and boundless conviction in their defense. Yumi (the Gloomy) Murakami Ceera (much less gloomy) Murakami, and all her many alts. Thanks for the textures! Strife Onizuka, for being a wonderful ResMod and all around Good Cabbit. Desmond Shang, for showing us how to be smart, successful, and rich and not let it go to our heads. Claire Silverspar, 3Ring Binder, Oryx Tempel, and LittleMe Jewell...for being sparkplugs, cheerleaders, and People Glue at various times. Seven O'Kelly and Jack(ie) Northman. They came late to the party, but dived in with gusto. Jerboa Haystack, for hiding under the couch and making us laugh even while he peeked up our skirts. Argent Stonecutter, Ferrets First Class. Qie Niangao, scripting wizard. Keira, and sable, Nika, and Peggy, and Ceka and Conifer and Eli and Ephraim and Joshooa and Talarus, Raymond and Ziggy and Damanios and Void and Ciaran and Phil and Marcel and Anya and Tod and Rock, and RockandRoll. Weston and Gabriele and the lovely Lula. Lucrezia Lamont and Joseph Abel and Soji Slade and Bodhi and Madhu and Carter. Jig Chippewa. Isablan, and Brann, and Rio of the Boots. Mickey the hedonist and Scylla the feminist. What the heck, even Pep the misogynist.
And all the others whose names my sluggish memory can't pull up right away. You are legion, and you've made my Second Life so much richer and more wonderful than it would ever have been without you. Not my Second Life only, but my life, period.

Actually, I would like to add one name for someone who never got enough recognition: Keira Wells, aka Okiphia Rayna, who created a bunch of wonderful lowprim sculptie furniture etc. and simply gives them away (or gave, if she's gotten busy). See the tail end of the fabulous "Show us your sculpties" Thread: ? .

A few more. As some may know, I'm exactly what you would call a computer person. I use them for certain things, but I really don't give them much thought otherwise. When I started SL I pretty much knew how to turn it on and off, I do what I needed. From this forum I've learned about how and why a computer works, and while truthfully I still don't care, things have sunk in via osmosis. So thanks for that I guess. Also, when I exiled myself from SL temporarily, many forumites sent me wonderful notes, hoping I would return, mainly through SL, since I had cancelled my account and couldn't access this forum. I did come back 3 weeks later, and when I logged in for the first time, there wre more notecards waiting for me, and again I thank everyone for those. One notecard in particular stands out. It was from Oryx. I still have it, and read it every so often, and it still makes me smile. Thank You, Punkin.

In a way, all that once posted in here is contributers -either directly with helping posts, or indirectly with inspiration. I want to thank all that has been part of this and tip my imaginary hat to you all. So sad that this is now the END :/ Hope to see a new forum emerge from the ashes, but where and when - A thing like this takes h u g e efford to establish. I will miss you all. Best Regards, And Thank You to ALL that carried, cared, mopped and polished.

From: Lindal Kidd What the heck, even Pep the misogynist. Thanks, but no thanks. As per usual, you have it completely wrong. Pep (You should be as perceptive as Peggy, who pointed out earlier that I show no bias towards pointing out the stupidity of any members of the multiplicity of genders that inhabit this place.)

Wow for me too many to name. But special shouts go out to Lindal, Mickey, Treasure, Chris, FD, Immy, Amanathon (sorry if I misspelled it,) Seven, Lexxi, Brenda, Ghosty, Prof, Jig, Lear, Marcel, Lord Sullivan, Rene, Desmond, Pep, Briana, 3Ring and anyone else I failed to name. Although only a few I have met or spoken to inworld, through this forum I feel like I have known some of you for a long time. Some have elicited laughter, anger, inpatience but more importantly knowledge and have given me insight on a variety of thought provoking subjects that I may not have otherwise given any thought. I learned a lot about sl through this forum and I will tremendously miss it. Looks like I got my activation code from AU. I hope you all accept my friend invites and I will see some of you in SLU and SCII. Those that believe in God or a Higher Being, bless you. Those that don't well I am going to ask that you be blessed anyway. What can it hurt? Wow the Saints won the Super Bowl. Will and I are going to have a blast in New Orleans. We will meet up there on the 14th, Valentine's Day. /me blows kisses to everyone.

From: Ephraim Kappler Just bumping my edited thanks (first page). Still wondering who I've left out though. That's why I didn't make a list. Too easy to leave someone out, unintentionally. I'd be wondering about that and worrying that I hurt someone's feelings by not mentioning them, when I really meant to. Best left unsaid, for me, although not 'unfelt'.

Thanks for all the work on the forums, Void. And for setting up Scriptorati. Anyway, I'm in the wee hours of the 9th here so I guess this is my last post.
Will somebody get the lights?

Doesn't seem right letting the 9th arrive without saying bye and thanks to everyone... Everyone that contributed here gets a salute from me, from the loudest voice to the tiniest peep. As a community, this is one of the best overall I have seen.
I'd like to thank many of the well-known professionals throughout the content creation forums (you know who you are..), who selflessly offered answers, tips, and info even at the risk of spawning a direct competitor. You *are* the spirit of SL, and because of your efforts a great many of us have dropped our training wheels to let our true talents shine. That's a gift that cannot be repayed <3
Would also like to personally thank those few people from in here who took the time to BS with me and give me a chance. I'll never be a classic "social butterfly", and I'm ok with that. It's *because* of that though, that your gesture is that much more meaningful to me, and hasn't gone unappreciated <3
Closing in on the 9th now, so probably my last post.. Take care all and thanks.

The short, pale woman walks into the center of the forum, and slowly unwraps a richly embroidered silk quilt, deep midnight blue shot with silver.
She unfolds it carefully and spreads it over the lumpen threads, smoothing the rough spots.
Then stands uncertainly, her head shaking as if an animation were trying to load.
Suddenly, she takes the edge and violently shakes it. Rising, a dark wave borne on a surge of voices .... wisdom, drama, facts, fantasies, expertise, lies and loves restlessly swell in hundreds of voices as the fabric roils in the air.
Slowly, it settles.
Silence, and she is gone. .
