(and your point was totally over my head, they asked about male skins, I said I was thinking of making some, showed an example of something I am working on, so they can see the quality, and eventually check out what I have cuz someday I will make male skins)

Pease don't get 'Steve', it's a skin that was basically stolen from the cretor (using methods which I will not speak of here, don't want to give any ideas. Theren are so loads out there at the moment, being given away at freebie shops, repackaged and sold at othe shops, and basically screwing the creators for all their all hard work. If you see a really good skin for free, and it seems to good to be true, it probably is. Have a look at the JIRA https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-676 they have the most commonly ripped skins that are out there at them moment. Please buy from a proper seller, these ripping bastards are killing the very idea that Second Life was built on.

If I remember the name, I think it is called "The Hunk Factory". It is not a store but more like a fashion consultant. Talk to her about what you want and how you want to look, and then she takes you shopping. I don't know if she takes you to buy bits or not but you can always ask.

There are probably other people that do this as well. Come to think of it, most women woulld take you shopping for free You could even use that as a pick up line, "Hi. Let's go shopping." /me laughs. It would be original at least.

you can get the free Cody skin at Freebie Beach. it's a very good italian male looking skin. they also have a nicoe woman's skin there, Tiffany, and quite a few freebie clothes that i haven't seen in other spots.... yet.

however, if you are looking for originalityand not intending to look like all the campers who went to the effort to doll up their dollies.. i recommend paying the $1 for the demos at serious skin places, and find the one that's right for you.

well there is a forum shopping trip coming up. You are welcome to join us AlexLee, i think there may be a store that sells male clothing and skins.....there were so many i lost track. But you would get advice from all of the ladies of the forum lol.

I wish there was a wider variety in guy skins. And clothes. The one thing I've found a happy abundance of is hair. Seems like there are only a handful of really good male skins out there, and most of them are way too muscular for me. I prefer a lean shape, which does not go well with skins that were made to go on bodybuilder chests.

About those demos:

First, make sure your shape is what you want. If you're not sure, then at least get it close. Many skins will look good on some shapes and all wrong on others.

Then try on the demos in good, daylight conditions, preferably in private so you can check all the details. Use a pose stand.

Zoom in on the face. Other parts of the body tend to be a matter of taste, but the face has a much bigger effect. The eyebrows may not match your hair color. Extra shadows can make you look older. Some skins will have eyeliner that you don't like. Clean shaven and baby-faced aren't necessarily the same. Some skins will look better on a long narrow face, others on a wider, rounder face.

If you're fussy about body hair, pay attention to the groin and legs. Only cyclists who race have smooth legs and hairy chests. And if you're into the smooth chested look, you may or may not want a happy trail.

Getting a decent skin isn't the hard problem. The hard problem is combining a skin, shape, and hair that all go together well.

Oh, and by the way, while lots of people have said to buy demos, don't forget to WEAR and COMPARE DEMOs.
