EZ Animator Deluxe Discusion Thread

I just purchased this gadget a few days ago and I can't get the lists to display properly. It appears that the buttons are being populated, but only zero or one button actually has visible text in it (green or white on black). The blank buttons are live, because they do stuff when I click them. I've tried /99reset, and recompiling and resetting scripts, doesn't fix the issue. I have not knowingly made any configuration changes other than to load the SL Animations notecard. This problem is persistent across several days on several sims. I also use AVPack and Xcite, but the problem manifests whether or not I am wearing them. It is possible it was damaged during install - I don't remember when exactly but it was in the time period when SL was having many inventory and database issues. Any suggestions would be appreciated - I'm sorry but right now this thing is pretty useless. Thanks!

I'll contact you in world, it's likely something very simple.

Oh one question. When you rez it on the ground do you see all the named displayed?

I am going to be attempting some other scripts soon and wondered exaclty how do you 'target' someone?

Unlike most online RPG's I've played I've nsever seen a target window showing you who your current target is....

I saw one script somewhere in which you SET the target first by typing in thier name... or another which shows the closest 5 people via dialog (ala AdHud).

Always wondered how this worked in SL.

[name]Hug|[hug]hug-feminine,hug-masculine,20,TRUE,/me gives [TARGET] a big hug.

and kinda takes the surprise out of being pounced on!
[name]Pounce|[hug]pounce1,pounce2,10,TRUE,/me pounces on [TARGET]. It asks permission to be hugged first!

Hugs always have to get permission from the other avatar to start, so yeah unfortunately you can't surprise someone with a pounce.

In the case of the pounce example above.. does the [hug] show the receipient "xxx wants to give you a hug", or some other message based on one of the parameters?

Reason I ask is I saw a "kiss" version somewhere that did the same thing , meaning it asked for permission first.

I wonder if those hug/kiss are built into SL or if you can provide some paramter perhaps which will customize what it says....

For example.. imagine instead of seeing "xxx wants to give you a hug", it said "Do you like surprises?", if answered yes, POUNCE!

I would like to thank Keiki for meeting me and attempting to resolve this issue. Her diagnosis, and I concur, is that the problem most likely lies in my video/hardware combination, not her product. I will be upgrading my computer in the near future, and I look forward to using her product then! Thank you again, Keiki. Skaffen Foil.

Yes there is actually,... There is a simple "Pounce" attachment I have that when you use it simply asks the other person..

From: someone

"Pouce", an object owned by 'Atriel Starbrook' would like to:

Animate your Avatar

Is this OK?

[YES] [No]


So there must be a way... going to see if i can reverse engineer it or find the script that allows remote animation requests.

Not currently in the EZAD. I could make it so the instant message sent to the huggee is more generic, but I'm reluctant to change it so there is another parameter in the [hug] which allows you to specify that text.

I bought my Huddles easy animator deluxe, took it home and attached it and spent several hours and almost 2000 Lindens loading it with dances, animations, urls and poses. All was well until I went out shopping for more things to add and came across some shoes I wanted. I bought the shoes, threw them in my clothing outfit folder and replaced my outfit to wear my shoes. Next thing I knew the EZAD had reset itself to the inital state when I got it. Nothing I put in there from the note cards to the purchased AO's, Animations and Url's were there, they had all disappeared.

Much to my dismay I figured out what is happening. Once you configure the animator, you need to either 1) detach it from yourself then reattach it so it has a chance to save the new changes 2) configure it on the ground and take it back into your inventory or 3) log out of second life and log back in.

Might there be a way to script the changes to your inventory? i.e., a save config button on the HUD.

Are you sure that you are not looking at the right copy of the the EZAD? The EZAD is copiable, and sometimes people add animations and then take it into their inventory and then attach the original copy of it, not the one with all the animations.

Are you sure that you are not looking at the right copy of the the EZAD? The EZAD is copiable, and sometimes people add animations and then take it into their inventory and then attach the original copy of it, not the one with all the animations.


I checked my other copies and they are not there. This strange quirk is reproducible just follow these steps:

I did get this to reproduce, I've never kept my EZAD in the same folder as an outfit, so I've never seen this before.

I would advise you to always drop your huddle onto the ground before making changes to and to not keep your EZAD in your outfit folders. Make sure you report this bug to Linden Labs, as will I.

I did some other testing. This happens with any attachment that you edit. Apparently the "replace outfit" doesn't save changes to the attachment, any attachement.

Is it somehow possible to request a change to the Zhao AO functions to allow an offset to particularly the ground sit. Unless you are a generic "adult human male" you may end up buried up to your neck underground.

Unfortunately animations don't work like that with Animation Overrides. You cannot define an offset. What you need to look for is a specific ground sit animation that doesn't put you in the floor. You might contact the creator of the ground sit that you most like and request that they make a version that works with the height of your avatar.

hmmm... perhaps I don't understand it correctly, but animations are scaled to body size. When doing an animation, there is no 'size' to control; male and female frames appear the same size in the animator (at least, in Qanimator). When you sit, your av should go down by roughly half its height, which would be wrong if your legs are extremely long or extremely short compared to the average proportion.

In Poser, you can decide how high or low your animation plays by changing the position of the hips. For different sized avis and different proportioned avis, ground sits can end up looking different relative to the floor. It doesn't quite work as you suggest (half the height), but height does effect it. The only way to get it perfect for a particular shape is to get a copy of that shape and use trial and error.

Hello:


Since last nite I my EZAD is not working.

When I attach it I get a stream of error messages... Math error and script-loading errors...

The HUDDLE HUD appears on my screen... but it does not respond to any selection and cannot be minimized.

This has been the case since last nite... ( had a similar problem with another HUD and I was able to get it working again by trashing the old objects re-rezzing the package and reinstalling.

Can't do this with EZAD since there is no package.

What can I do?

Alrighty, I have a known issue for the next update, so I'm starting a list:
  1. [xx] command doesn't work for channels 0-9. I need to change something in the "emoter" script in link 2.
  2. Checking into an error with the AO where setting the stand time to 0 doesn't work. Problem in consolidated script.


Both seem relatively benign errors, so I may not actually send an update out when I get a fix for them. I want to wait till either I have some real upgrades for the features or someone finds a critical error that needs to be fixed.

Adding a /99ao command to turn the ao off and on was suggested.

Hello,

I have the same problem. When rezzing on ground, all buttons have labels, when adding to HUD, only the first 3 buttons have a label.

Btw. is there no way to give the item a different name? If you have one with standing, one with sitting and one with lying poses, you have to put them in labeled directories or confuse them a lot...

Looks like you figured out the other issue. But for this one. The way you categorize animations using the EZ Animator Deluxe is to use notecards. Take a look at sections III and V in the help notecard.
