I've already got an announcement directing Resis from General to the SL ResMods forum.

I'm additionally hoping you can rustle up peeps from inworld who may have not been on the SL Forums before!

As such, this being a thread about ResMods, it's been moved to the right place--and a redirect has been left to point the way, bridging.

Though if they don't normally come to the forums.. is an uneducated vote any good?

Naive impressions can be important, and so is comparing before and after. I am hoping tho, for more people to come to the SL Forums, spend time--and then their opinions will be more informed in time.

In this one case I think a forum poll about what goes on on the forums would be made pretty inaccurate by 'drumming up folks who never went to the forums before'

Crosssection of community and all that.

Sorry I can't delete it--that's only done in extreme cases of abusive behavior here, but it's going to be okay.

However, a gentle reminder though that disagreements for ideas can be expressed in a civil way to make them more meaningful to all involved.

And what Siggy mentioned I wanted to touch on, about some who have not been here on the SL Forums previously but will spend time and learn. We all begin somewhere. Certainly, a crosssection.

Hmm, I chose not to. Sorry? ^.^ No worries about the respect though, no longer exists, bravo. Was on the fence about the resmod issue but little tantrum displays of this ilk put a different spin on things.

Yay you! Maybe you should do a little research. Your loss of respect for me is an indicator that you need to relook this issue anyway. I deserve absolutely no respect and if you do respect me you are subject to ridicule. I for one, applaud your lack of respect for me. Bravo,,,,, or should I say Brava ? which is it?

No the loss of respect came from your personal and over the line attack on Tory. More than a adequate reason I think to lose respect of anyone, given the emotionally loaded an savage phrasing of said, regardless of the the poster.

My cross to bear I suppose. You've made thoughtful, humourous posts in the past on a number of topics which I found either laugh worthy or thought provoking enough to warrant some modicum of respect. Much as I respect Siggy in a like fashion for provoking a smile through crass wit, as opposed to simply being crass and deliberately hurtful. I've not seen him cross the line you have without cause as of yet.

I think it depends on nationality and native tongue, either way you're doing a bang up job helping the resmod supporters with your thoughtless lashing out and personal attacks. Brava or bravo, choice is yours. ^.^

Aww, don't cry, it'll be ok. Maybe you can join a support group? I'm sure there have to be any number of anger management ones out there offering comfort, shoulders to cry on, an hugs.

Always welcome. ^.^

Ok, I don't often say this, and you know that I like you Lecktor, but what the fuck is wrong with you? Seriously - the amount of abuse you are hurling at people tonight over something minor is pretty sad and way over the line. I don't like the resmod program any more than you do, but attacking Torley of all people who is doing nothing except trying to keep the peace is pathetic. The same goes for your repeated attacks on Elle Pollack - hurling insults at them isn't helping anything - it is only alienating you from people who actually support you. What is the point?

PS - I say this in all sincerity - take a step back, it is not worth acting like this.

T

...

Someone mentioned this post to me and i'm sorry but I have to respond to this.

Torley has been one of the nicest and most understanding people in all of SL, Torley's biggest flaws in my view would be giving people cavities and trying to repaint the world in watermelon shades. The simple fact this post is left in the thread is proof of that understanding and acceptance.

Normally I would just wave off this type of attitude as no big deal, but Torley is a special exception to alot of SLers, including me, and i'm here to post my defense.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled forum drama.

I don't know what problems you have with Torley personally Leck, but this isn't the right way to go about anything. I don't see that Torleys done anything to warrent this kind of abuse.

I am gonna have to back up Torley on this. Admittedly, clear, plain answers to these issues would go a bit further than sunshine ... but the sunshine ain't all that bad.

I think if there were a personification of all things good and positive in Second Life, that anthropomorphic embodiment would come in a watermelon palette. Torley LOVES Second Life in a way that goes well beyond her employment at Linden Lab. It's fine to disagree with her on the details about HOW Second Life can be made better, but she should be given all the respect of somebody who puts her heart and soul into nurturing the world we all love here. That's exactly what she does.

His posts were out of line and unmeritted (like bladyblues victim card attack)..

All that being said I have to disagree with Torley. To votes informed on the resmod program you have to have seen whats been going on. People who have never been to the forums lack the experience to votes in an educated manner on the issue.

I agree. Most forum polls are criticized because they only sample forum participants who are a tiny minority of the SL population. That criticism is valid.

However, polls ABOUT the forums are a rare exception because they sample the exact demographic for which they were intended. I think the results we are seeing in Jonas' forum polls about ResMods should be given greater weight and consideration when considering forum policy than any poll that make an effort to include those who are unaware or uninterested in the forums.

Thank you, Jesse. Yours is an example of excellent moderation. Take out the offensive posting while acknowledging others who have spoken out against it and allowing the discusion to proceed.
