Did you look into the startup script ./secondlife for debug variables? Try commenting out all debug variables and then start SL again.

Wow... I don't know how I overlooked that. I knew that the release notes said the option was disabled by default, but I could have sworn that the line was commented out. Thanks for making me look it over again :D

I've never had any issues with the extensions on my card, so I'm willing to "risk it" for the eyecandy :)

If you can get it to run at all, yes. I`m using it, and have since Wednesday.

Just to clarify this. Are you saying he should be able to connect to -abiti, or the main SL gridr? I thought that abiti is behind a few days on updating the user database?

I created one a few minutes ago and abiti is telling me my username and password are not correct (when they are!!).

ADITI (not abiti) is a bit behind on New Accounts.

The new main client WILL work on the main grid, no matter how new you are.

The Preview Client will only work on the preview grid, aditi at the moment, and some newer accounts will not be able to log on.

The parameter is --aditi.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks for the help! I figured out the typo, but its still telling me to check my username and password. If I try and use the linux client on the main grid it tells me I have to update. ARGH!!

The preview client doesn't work on the main grid - it's for the preview grid. You want to download the non-preview linux alpha client (currently version 1.12.2.9) for use on the main grid.
