Well, it seems I've got a choice: Use the alpha linux client and have no sound, or use the windows version with Wine and have my av look (to me) like a pink blob.
Anyone else have a problem with their own av under wine? Everyone else looks fine.

You can use slstream to activate streaming music with the alpha client: http://stux.wikiinfo.org/moin.py/Tools No other sound though.. Regarding your odd appearance under wine, you can try rebaking the textures: ctrl-alt-d then debug menu.. rebake textures |
