Phantom Bridge is good. Yes... I liked this one too. It has many meanings and direct connections with the world and quickly tells the story of all that have tried to cross it successfully. (Some crossing themselves before they make the attempt!) Would be especially nice to name it that if ever the Lindens fix it and it stops having that phantom spot. Folks will ask, 'Why is it called the 'Phantom Bridge'?" and we will have the ready answer with first-hand stories to back it up. Perhaps we could erect a Phantom Trollboth with a sentry troll? L$3 to cross and proceeds go toward R&D on improving region border crossings. Name the troll, "Andrew." Or "Andy" for short. He could be a tiny troll. p.s. The Trollbooth would be set to "phantom," of course. p.s.s. Oh well... the troll too for that matter. |

The street in front of Marcos' shop would have to be called Shiny St. totally. Hey, I'm on that street too -- and I think it's a fab name. ![]() _____________________

We now have some new owners along the shore of Barcola. One suggestion was Bay Shore Blvd. I Like it!

As I mentioned elsewhere, Michael Linden is currently workin' on signs for Bay City's streets with names chosen by BC's land owners. Might be a good time for NAs to get done too.

I can dig it...

I like the Garth FairChang Ave idea.. assuming Pituca is ok with it.
Shiny Street, eh? I like the "Shiny" part, it certainly fits that stretch of road well.. not so sure about "Street" though. Shiny Boulevard? Shiny Drive? Shiny Road? *time passes* anyhoo.. we just turned a movie back on here in RL. Until after now... _____________________

Street named after Garth
01-06-2010 07:23
I think naming the street after Garth is a wonderful idea. He did so much toward making SL what it is in his own quiet way. Maybe that little sidewalk intersecting our properties could be Pituca Walkway or somesuch. That is where I had my windmill and all the plants I sold.
As you have seen I have the land up for sale now. I hate to see it go as it is such a part of what is FairChang, We bought those parcels in 2004 for was our first real Flagship Store. Lordfly built the store for us. But now that Garth is gone and the train business he had there with Alan Parks is gone quite frankly I don't know what to put there and I hate seeing it looking abandonded. Maybe I should rent out the main parcel or make it into a park. Any ideas from you all who are involved there? Pituca http://blog.fairchang.com http://pituca.fairchang.com _____________________

Hi Pituca! I am very happy to know that Garth FairChange Avenue will have it's rightful place.
I also would not object to Pituca Walkway either! ![]() It is a surprise you might be willing to possibly keep a parcel to rent or for putting a park in. I would like to suggest a park. I always loved the setting there with the flowers and benches and the mini train. |

I think the idea of having a street named after Garth is a wonderful tribute -- and I echo what Lisa said about a park or some such. Glad to have you in Nova Albion, Pituca.

Speaking of street signs, Nova Albion's sister to the West, Bay City, is getting its street signs in: they've been spotted at Jazz Drive, Gatsby Drive, Doo Wop Way, Art Deco Drive, Moose Beach Road, Gable Drive, Jetty Road, Park Place & Kerouac Road, within Molesworth, Moosehead, Handa, and part of Rollers

Street Names

I am definitely for:
Garth Fairchange Avenue Brickie Lane (or Brickie Square might be even better) Magellen Way -- I'd like to nominate "Balnarring Lane" after a creator who gives away hosts of completely open builds, teaches people to build, rescues those in need, and lives much the same way in RL. Ideally this should be a lane, walkway, or street near rezzable land. |

Shiny Boulevard? Shiny Drive? Shiny Road? I'd be good with Shiny Drive or Shiny Road, too. Not too sure about Boulevard. Might I suggest what those of us in Bay City did? Have a point person take all the suggestions and plug them onto a map, then set up a feedback period, likely on this forum and possibly Twitter, for discussion? Then finalize it and get 'em up. ![]() _____________________

Pituca http://blog.fairchang.com http://pituca.fairchang.com Oh, please don't ever take down your windmill - it's such a Grignano landmark that just thinking about it makes my heart hurt. The little area with the train tracks on it makes a nice little pocket park, too. The bulk of the land might make a nice marina or wharf area. _____________________
