Sounds like a great idea, Lisa - I think NA needs more City Pride events to pull it's residents, visitors and fans together.
Some ideas:
1) Ideas from Caledon - they have a very active forum.
2) How about some regular city holidays? Nothing too hard to arrange, but things like Wear It Blue Week or toy boat races, etc. I'm sure we could come up with enough ideas to do something every month between the March & December celebrations.
3) Some dramtic events - the old oil refinery fire in NA was huge deal back in the day. And what about the alien attacks on Caledon? Something to draw people into the story of the city, make them part of its tale.
That's just some stuff off the top of my headin a work break. I'll be willing to help. Maybe this should have been a new thread...?

/me raises her eyebrow on future events and holidays, =D sound FUN! But I was more refering to that if anyone is going to do something on their land for the anniversary itself, then perhapse we could do a Land hop or something.

Future Events
02-27-2009 05:30
Yeah, didn't want to muddy the waters here - maybe we need a City Pride thread to plan future events and the like?
p.s. what is a land hop?

Well a land hop is just a take on Bar Hop. Get a bunch of people together and spend about an hour at different bars through the night. Or take the hop yourself, hehe Land hop is actually something I just thought of....I don't think it's an official word. uggg...I need my coffee! Mossant has a great coffee shop!

Street Performers
02-27-2009 16:27
One of my ideas for an event was a street performer or Musician. Maybe a set or 2 on Saturday and one on Sunday after the parade? Any suggestions here?

I have an idea
02-27-2009 17:46
As I said...street performers...I just did some footwork and I have found some interested parties to perform for us. One in particular does some Classic Rock. Here is JIMMYT49 DUKES web site and calendar... http://jimmyt49.tripod.com/I will be attending his Monday performance. Anyone wanna join? Now the kicker....where can we have a concert... /me raises eyebrow at Sal OH SAL...the Arch would be Perfect!...if ya can give up your stream for an hour. What does everyone think? Care to join me Monday night?

Music Performers
03-02-2009 19:39
NICE! I was just at JimmyT's show. His music style seems to be Southern Classic Rock and Blues like Robert Cray and Stevei Ray Vaugn. He does not perform on Sundays and has 2 on Saturday so we may need to look elsewhere. but I'll save him for another event maybe? Need feedback! What type of music do you want to hear?

Concert Beneath Griganno Arch
03-03-2009 09:40
Lisa: You mentioned somewhere recently an idea about having concert beneath the Grignano Arch. I think that's a swell idea. We can certainly provide access for the media stream during the concert. Let's talk!

This is pretty cool! REALLY cool in fact. Del is working on an amazing floor map on her parcel next to Armord. Check this out http://www.flickr.com/photos/32266717@N03/3327388098/The map has sight points and not only for Nova, but for the adjacent Sims east and north to fill in a #5 shape she has carved out. Great imagination Del! TOO cool!

ROCKABILLY! hahaha OK! Anyone else? music choice? Also I had another thought. Sal that pic on the bridge during the 2nd anniversary... http://homepage.mac.com/salazarjack/images/nova-albion-2006-bridge.jpgis Classic. How about we get as many of us we can during that weekend for a group photo and post it somewhere at the hub. And keep doing it from now on. It is history after all.

Lookin in Search Sal. Derailers in SL? Don't see them. However, I have been looking and most artists are already booked. I do know someone that is a particle dancer (She's Excellent)and she would be willing to do it. She has a thing at 2 pm Saturday then free after that.

well hey there!
03-09-2009 20:41
Hey there City Slickers!! so, is the date set for the 22nd? if so, i'll mark it on my calendar and do my best to make it. (which would be awesome, since i've pretty much missed all of the previous ones) As far as music goes, if you're all still in need of an awesome blues performer.. we could ask Von Johin. (if you haven't heard him perform live.. find a show and go. as in, stop reading and go in-world and find a concert when he's playing. now.) Will we have any official banners we can throw up on our land? (and thanks for the in-world notice about 3 threads being current here.. it's what clued me in to come see what's up) gotta run.. but god to step back in, even for a moment
