I'm not good at organizing, as you can see.

The fact that life has been hectic with the holidays and such for the last month hasn't helped much.

I am making a decision for the meeting place Thursday night at 7pm at the Gordon Bierch at 2 Harrison Street.

The Dinner menu is reasonably priced and becasue it's a restaurant, I'm assuming it's 18+.

How does that sound to everyone?

The most successful software company in the world does a piss-poor job on all these points. Particularly the first three. Why do you expect Linden Labs to do any better?
Yes, it's true, I have a blog now!

If the restaurant is in Downtown San Francisco, please pick a place close to a BART station. Driving to and parking in SF for out-of-town residents is an expensive nightmare.

Is this near a BART?

I am not sure where it is, but if it is as it says 3 blocks from Pac Bell Park (or SBC or whatever it is called today), than it is close to BART.

Their Map shows the restaurant to be 4 or 5 blocks from Market Street BART station - Embarcadero? Close enough that BART is the option from East Bay, unless someone plans to car-pool?

There's a strong likelihood that I will show up for a dinner or gathering to meet people...I would love to get together but I ask that no one take any photographs of me please. Very serious about that request.

I look forward to meeting you all!

Vektor.

I spoke to Linden Labs today about possibly putting together a tour. They are agreeable, but would prefer to do it on Friday (13th) around 3pm. They would also like a head count, and names of everyone in advance. I hope Im not stepping on any toes by doing this, and if I am please tell me.

April, can you send this to the group? We need to get names together asap of those who want to attend. In the interest of time (and time is short), everyone can respond directly to me at Scotttucker@comcast.net if there are no objections.

Im also thinking of organzing a wine tour for Saturday or Sunday. It would be a limo thingy, prolly cost about $50 each for a full day of touring and tasting. Let me know if there is any interest.

Just put in my RSVP for Fri LL tour.

Not to sure about a wine tour, if you are talking Napa is a bit muddy currently not sure they will be recovered from the floods.

Hi Cosmo,

Thanks for your PM, unfortunately, Grim and I will not be able to make the trip. After, our big move in December and Grim starting college semester, we won't be able to make it like we had hope. Hopefully, we can make it to the next gathering in SF.

MJ :)

Ok, I need someone who knows San Fransisco to please tell me how to get to the restaurant, and LL, preferably on BART, I'm not familiar with the city so I'm a little directionally challenged and am hoping to get directions and stuff typed up before I leave in the morning and will be away from my trusty PC. if someone could kindly help me I'd appreciate it, feel free to email me maevemorgan@gmail.com or forum PM me or hit me in world

Hi Everyone,
Linden Labs has requested that we change our tour time on Friday the 13th to 4pm instead of 3pm. They feel that if it is more near the end of the day, they employees will have more free time to interact with us. They are also arranging some meeting time with Philip Linden for us as well. This should be a lot of fun.

I hope the time change isnt an issue for anyone, and I look forward to seeing you all dinner on Thursday.

All my best,
Scott aka Cosmo Saramago

I love San Francisco. I had the best time ever. Macworld was fun. But the real highlight was dinner with you guys. And of course the visit to Linden Labs.

I enjoyed everything about the visit. Jeska is the sweetest person on the face of the earth. We had a fantastic time speaking to everyone. Phillip taking the time to talk to us was so incredible. He listened and gave us good honest answers and a glimpse into his vision of Second Life. He understands a lot about the community aspects of interactions both virtually and in that thing called Real Life. I walked away feeling inspired and very excited about the future of Second Life.

I want to give a big thank you to Cosmos for following through on the tour info, for making the arrangements and providing directions.

Thanks Jeska for the tour. Thanks to all the hard working Lindens who endured our interuptions.

I am so glad I made this trip. And so glad I finally got to meet my bud Faminu Sojourner who is as delightful in person as she is in Second Life. I think one of the most interesting things I have learned from both this visit and attending the conference in New York, is that some how, even though it's just pixels and typing, people's true personalities come through. So when you meet them in RL, you honestly feel like you already know this person. I felt such a connection to Faminu, it was so amazing. I think this also says a lot about the nature of Second Life and that it gives us the tools to allow us to express so much of ourselves that something like that can occur.

Thank you April :) It was so wonderful to finally meet you, I am so glad you could come out.

Many thanks to all the Lindens who displayed tons of generosity to us. Enjoyed the tour and field trip - ;) Thanks Jeska

And thanks to all the fellow residents that were there, was fun meeting you all.
