I'd be up for it. Reno, NV here. Only a 3 hour drive. :)
Hey! My home town! ;) I *might* be able to make it, depending on if work unleashes the shackles (launch time, unfortunately).

I'm in the bay area, so I'll be there. Let me know once the time and place are locked down!

Checking with LL for invasion info...

SF Brewing Company may work, never been there, but is a brewery with a restaurant (think they have to allow under 21 with food service) and is only a few blocks from LL.

Faminu, you are marvelous, that sounds perfect. Everyone else, check the site and sound off about it.

The most successful software company in the world does a piss-poor job on all these points. Particularly the first three. Why do you expect Linden Labs to do any better?

Well if it's the week of MacWorld, and I promised myself I'd go to MacWorld, then I ought to be able to make this event too, right?

I noticed that the Thirsty Bear Brewing Company is right next door to the Moscone Center, so it's a close option for us MacWorld-ees.

Would anyone else be interested in meeting up during the expo? Either the gaming area (louder) or in one of the hallways (quieter) would work. Ideas?

Oooooh, count me in. My office is just 2 blocks from Moscone Center and I'd be happy to scope out locations.

On the Embarcadero:

http://www.gordonbiersch.com/restaurants/

Further away (Golden Gate Park meets the Pacific Ocean...) but a stunning location:

http://www.beachchalet.com/

Near Moscone, lively:

http://sanfrancisco.citysearch.com/profile/876215/san_francisco_ca/kate_o_brien_s.html

Right on the Bay, great music:

http://www.pier23cafe.com/

Endless possibilities! Let me know what I can do!

Oh, Vivi's suggestion for http://www.beachchalet.com/ would be my vote. Beautiful view! Since I'm coming from fremont, all the locations are equal to me as far as transit time.

Downside - this location is not exactly mass-transit friendly.... but then again, perhaps it'd be a good excuse to make some car pools!

Any work for me, near Marscapone sounds good for those visiting MacWorld as well as those BARTing in from the East Bay.

Haven't gotten a response from the Lindens on who to contact/ what to do if we want a tour before hand (as well as welcome them to our meet). Will try again.

Friday night is good with me I'm coming from Sacramento, but I'll be in SF for most of the week. As for place I vote for something not too pricey, but with good food :D

My train leaves Friday night at 9pm, so Friday night is out for me. But I was hoping Friday during the day would be good for the Linden Labs trip.

Faminu, I am so looking forward to meeting you.

Myself and another friend from the Midwest would like to attend that event, I'm sure I would enjoy meeting some more people, and she is dying to see the ocean, so, i'll keep looking in the posts...

If the restaurant is in Downtown San Francisco, please pick a place close to a BART station. Driving to and parking in SF for out-of-town residents is an expensive nightmare.

I will be coming in via BART as well, I try to avoid driving (and parking) in the city.

Yes this is definitely in the works. I am so excited. I got my MacWorld Exhibit Pass in the mail over the weekend. I can hardly wait.

So I thought we should have a definite list of people who will be attending. So I was thinking, anyone who is serious about attending, email me at aprilfirefly@gmail.com and I'll create a master mailing BCC'ing everyone but this should give us a better idea of numbers and from there I'll contact a restaurant.

It's been suggested to have both a Thursday and a Friday meet up.

I will be leaving on Friday, so anyone who wants to organize the Friday meeting, feel free.

Also, when emailing me to say you will be attending the Thursday Meet up, please include your SL Screen name or rather the one you use on the forums.
