UK Meet Up

Manchester. i,ll ave a go of that...... from the nw and fed up going to London every year....

I guess the next question is to anyone in and around the Manchester area....Can anyone suggest a venue?

We would need to now how many will be attending first wouldn,t we... like have an email address people can email to confirm they going...

Ok....if we go for organising something in Manchester...it will help if people could let me know if they are seriously interested & the sort of thing they expect from the evening? I was thinking of just a meet up, few drinks, chatting and a good laugh...does anyone expect anything different...please let me know by IM'ing me in world asap....thanks!

Well I left central Manchester since this thread began you swines but it's only 40 miles or so north from where I'm now living and I visit the Picadilly/Canal Street district almost weekly, so if I'm in the area or have no other plans when this meet takes place, I'd certainly be interested in tagging along.

The meet will be held at The Britannia Country Hotel on Saturday Nov 24th at about 7.30pm, will confirm all details again here a day or so before for those of you who aren't in the group.

I've booked a room and had no problem but might be worth booking soon if you definitely want to stay at the hotel.

Did people really say they were going to the Manchester meet and then all but one didn't turn up? I know I said I couldn't go (Didsbury is too hard to get to on public transport from where I am) but it seems a *lot* of people said they'd turn up and then didn't, meaning one person ended up staying the night in a hotel with nobody else there.

At least two people showed but didn't actually meet.. I spent most of the time from 4pm to about 10pm sat in the bar with my portable logged into Second Life.. In between getting blank looks from people when I asked if they were there for the Second Life meet up..

Ah British Apathy rules again!
