From: scarlet Vavoom As a mentor I come across grieffers that have used the "report abuse" button to report me for either banning them or talking to them, etc. Doesnt make sense, Scarlet, because you are never notified when someone ARs you. You should look at your own actions as explained in any discplinary notice you receive in email from Linden Labs. If you feel it's not right, then you can appeal it.

Working in teams is a good thing

Yes, it is a common issue,
As a mentor, if I have doubts over the numbers of trouble some types, I invariably call for backup. And that call rarely goes un answered.
Knowing when to call, is essential...
While you may be dealing with one issue, you cannot keep an eye out all around yourself, so literally anything could be happening.
If in doubt , call for experienced Mentors, to help and advise you!
you are not alone.

Since becoming a Mentor a couple of years ago, i have had my fair share of griefers to AR. The best way round it imo is just to quietly AR them and get on with your own stuff, don't feed them with Im a mentor stuff and TP other mentors in. Nowadays it seems that as soon as there is trouble with one mentor they shout on the channel for back up, we are, as individuals meant to be able to handle these problems on our own, (a Linden will arrive if needed quite soon i have found in the past). This method in my opinion can inflame the situation further when more Mentors turn up on the scene. Its clear in the guidelines not to do this, but just to file an AR. You don't help the G Team by filing loads of ARs when a problem happens. Mentors are NOT THE GRID POLICE which i feel a lot of mentors now are seeming to forget. We are here to help people and the best way to do this is to educate them. So if you come across a griefer, please don't shout in channel for back up, griefers can't harm you except maybe the ego, but you can teach the others present how to file an AR, how to sit on a prim so the griefer attack doesn't harm you. Then the new folks will be armed with the knowledge for future problems. Maybe that sounds harsh but imo its just the facts We are here to educate and help not police the grid by TP'ing more mentors into a problem zone, especially as us mentors have no powers, so whats the point? Just my 2 cents worth Peace

What better way to help a noob is there than showing them actually how to combat a griefer in practice.
