ResMods are dead as Brenda said the whole forum shebang is going to be handled by an outside company it was announced several weeks ago.. Wether thats a good or a bad thing we will see but personally i think its a good idea to be run by people that are not involved with the game and people that will be impartial when Moding.

I have to disagree that 3rd party resmods will be better. Knowing nothing about SL is not a plus.

Also we will have no idea what guidlines they will follow. I forsee the forums to end up a wasteland.

With SL being completely different than other MMO's and the RL money involved there's going to be bans and posts removed when things get heated, which they often do. Knowing nothing about SL will be a huge disadvantage. Its just another thing LL wants to farm out so they can simply remove themselves from responsibility.

I would be interested in being a moderator. I have been a mentor for over a year now and a resident for over two years. My RL job has me sitting in front of a computer for 8 hours a day and they dont have the SL forums blocked so I would be happy to help. :P

5 posts in the forums and you want to moderate them?

You do not even know us.

I do!

/me squints at Briana. Especially you. I have notes!

/me would be a fair and benevolent moderator, as long as you townspeople continued to make a small weekly sacrifice.

I endorse this candidate.

Will you accept prims as a sacrifice?

Well with the management showing they don't know a whole lot about SL and bans and posts being removed recently as an example, and lets be honest we don't have guidelines at the moment as in recent events some of us were suspended while people posting worse were left to post lol LL makes it up as they go along methinks and i don't think things will change much in that direction but do agree they will end a wasteland of sorts and thats the real shame.

Actually that might be good reason to be a Moderator..........

But it doesn't matter. The ResMod Program is over.

Maybe we can get all controversial and stuff in this thread and they will lock it so people will not get confused?

Brenda, you go first. I got your back...

Waaaaaay back.

so tell me, if LL cant do it how can a 3rd party? is it because they dont want the responsibility? they will need people to watch over the 3rd party mods, and why couldnt the so called watchdogs do the modding? I see zero addition with 3rd party mods, I signed up for LL not some ebay/paypall party.

ResMod Interest
12-11-2008 01:12
I am interested in being considered as a ResMod. I spend between 10-15 hours a week on SL and would really like to contribute to the world in some way as I have been playing for awhile and really enjoy this society.

There are no openings for Second Life Forum ResMods, so I'm closing this thread.

Thanks!
