Well, this is what I get for not following this thread.

The game is done, tho it has been a flop, nobody has been interested in it.

Racer Plisskin finished it, mainly through dogged determination because he wanted to play it, tho i'm sure the 10k helped.

if it's not selling, contact a distributer, who can promote your product, and get the players of secondlife exposed to your game. They'll probable want 50% of the profits, but they know, that having a good product isn't anuff to make money. A promoter will have a network of contacts, and numerous sell locations, all over secondlife, witch they can use to promote and sell your product. They'll know where people buy, and have your product there. They'll come up with an effective stragity to exposed the consumer to your product.

You mean the 400 script monster that eats 15% of sim resources when it's idle? Thank God it's a flop

Oooo that sounds fun! I love lagging games! Actually, I'm not kidding, it does sound fun.

I'd rather just leave it a flop than let someone else have half the profits from it. Guess i'm just not greedy enough to make that kinda deal. I threw it on slboutique for the hell of it.

And it's not nearly as laggy as say Prim Attack. We've played it in the sandboxes without much trouble at all.

I love games...I work with the top vote getting game for the SL Game Expo (Arcadia 1 and Arcadia 2 sims where games are soon to be on display for play, fun and all that jazz).

There are ways to do what you want, but seeing as you do not script and do not want to share profits you are leaving the idea like a cat in bag waiting to drown (yes people do like to make money and have FUN). It's pretty simple at this stage that you will be pressed to find ANYONE to help without compromise. Talk to people lots of them, you might find someone willing to help if you decide to work with as opposed to against?

Think of it like a relationship, key word 'compromise'...if you are not able to do that well see how those arrangements work. Ideas are wonderful, I mean if wishes were trees the trees would be falling (m. stipe), but it takes a more than an idea to make a reality. I'm not bashing on you, just trying to give you how it is in SL and life. I mean if you were a one stop shop that could do it all this thread wouldn't exist right?

Try to take this as constructive and not as a 'do this or forget it' type mentality.

Not sure this will help you, but I hope it does.

Who are the promoter and distributors you mention? I just finished a chess board (with less prims and some additional features than XYlor's) and I also have a Sudoku board I'd like to promote.

Anyone inetersted contact me in game or send me a mail at stephane.zugzwang@gmail.com

At the very least you need it on all three web traders (doesn't cost anything to set up, so why not?). Then, start looking into high traffic locations where people who play games are likely to be going. Anywhere that'll let you place a demo version is doubly good.

Calix, FYI the game has been completed. It's the marketing phase i'm into now.

Evening.

Two quick clarifications:

- Racer was just interested in playing the game. He's one of the folks sharing my rental parcel, and he did not know about this thread or the payment (I *am* still following the forums here, at least when the 7-8 Uru ones I follow dry up ;) - He doesn't, probably for the better too).

- We located the source of the scripting useage on the quad, it's not the game, and I hopped in-world briefly to help fix the problem (got to meet some new neighbors at the time too). That's in the process of getting resolved now. :)

It really is a cool game, and two huge thumbs up to Lasivian for even looking at trying this.

*waves and links out again*
