Rant-Things I hate about second life

People who judge other peoples motivations or reasons for using Second Life, and project their sense of value on others activities.

I hate the 0.2 second delay on any script function that does anything useful, like offset texture or rotate prim.

I know WHY the delay exists, and agree that it's necessary... but I still hate it to death.

Lag!

Pshaw... you obviously have no clue what SecondLife is REALLY about... if you did you'd recognize that it's absolutely stupid for anyone to judge other people's motivations or reasons for using it. Stop projecting your sense of value on other's activities.

shure there is, dont give them any more money, then their land/mall/whatever will dry up and go away, it happens all the time

Sorry youre so offended by my post but it is merely my oppinion nothing more.
I didnt say anything about asking permission to build on your own land, dont know where you got that idea. I simply made a comment about selfish people which Im entitled to do.
Personally in RL and SL I consider my neighbours and Im lucky to have neighbours in both who feel the same. I wouldnt just put up some ugly skyscraper(even if it was allowed) next to my neighbours in RL and in SL I would not do this either.
I dont know you but you sound like youre offended because you probably feel its your right to do whatever you want no matter how it affects others in SL and most probably RL too. How would the real world be if it was like this? I wouldnt want to live in it.
Id prefer to look at a shitty grass texture through a fog gradient anyday than some super ugly mall, casino or tacky club, but hey each to their own

no what you said is that anyone elses SL wasnt important, becuase in your mind someones hard work and long hours is worthless if it blocks the view you dont own, and therefore does not have a right to exist, no matter how it affects everyone else in SL

btw it does happen in RL, all the time, infact recently the farm next to my house, which provided some scenic relief just turned into a shopping center, now i get to see a publix and a dunken donuts

which shows how good zoning is, when you can change it on a whim

and im not offended, just offput because now i have to ask you if my biulding will affect your view

I dislike it when you meet a male av whilst out and about, just normal chatting about stuff. Example could be in a store and chatting innocently about the merchandise, both agreeing that the stuff is nice or something....e.t.c..

Then as I move my av / cameras to get a better look at who I am chatting to, I notice that he erm has not put away his prim danglies yet from returning from the front line!!

So there I am chatting away with a completely nice stranger, fully dressed with his prim penis hanging out.. I never know if to tell him or just shut up.. so far I have taken the just shut up option and waved cheerily goodbye as we carry on on our separate paths!

i cant stand ppl who take this genre TOO seriously, and a 2 year friendship ruined over the name of a club! I feel like getting crayons and a nap mat and sending it to a certain someone, becuz it so kindergarden like actions! sighs...come on..if you sat in my kitchen in rl..id be pretty real and even offer you some of my delicious fried chicken..mmmmm...well maybe only one piece.

There you go again putting words in my mouth that I never said, lol. Nowhere did I say that anyone elses SL was not important in fact what Im saying is quite the contrary. I think that other peoples SL experience is as important as mine, thats the whole point of my post. It would be nice if people considered each other and communicated about things however I know that its not realistic to expect this from everybody.
The kind of selfishness Ive experienced in SL from others is downright ugly and never justifiable even if it is only a game.
Sorry to hear about the mall next door to your house.Your situation sounds terrible and now I see why you appear to be so angry about what I wrote. However you could use it as an example of what you wouldnt do to others instead of a way of justifying your belief that you should be able to build what ever you want on your land despite how others are affected.
Nobodys stopping you from building whatever you want or saying its not important but consultation with neighbours is a positive and progressive thing. I altered my shop for my neighbours and also offered to put some trees to diguise it. Its on a hill so I also would never just build up in front of the people behind me, that would just be totally wanky and self centered.
I wouldnt feel happy if I knew my actions were affecting somebody else in a negative way. You dont "have " to ask me about my view. But you could if you cared slightly about others

Well I would have to say the lag, missing inventory, and not being able to deactivate those silly looking voice gestures. It has been a month with no resolution. I think my arms are starting to get really tired from flailing around everytime I speak in voice. Beware those speech gestures. They are evil.
