People that say crap like "You shouldn't complain" or "You this" or "You that" obviously have not played MMOs. Sure they have problems but not like SL.
Lets take WOW. I'd say at any time the game is 10% full of problems. Lets compare that to SL. At any time 50% of the game is glitchy if not more!
Some would say "Well its free!" While I may have a basic account I still pay them for money in game occasionally. And then there are those with premium accounts. You don't have a MMO game then have it run like crap! You fix it before before telling people about "This is what we want to charge you for next!" No fix it first then talk about future plans!

Complain away. That's what the forums are here for. Get that rage off your chest...
Sure, it doesn't help anyone or anything, but it feels good for a moment.

From: Cheeseboat Interflug Ok, I have been conversing with alot of other residents and we think that things are getting out of hand. Before new features are to be added, existing issues need to be fixed. I pay for my subscription and I expect to get my moneys worth, as I'm sure all other paying residents do.
So I am starting a petition right now.
Fix the issues before birthing new to make it more "stable" If you feel the same way, post here and put your 2 cents in!
I suppose you missed the part in the new feature FAQ where they said they had no plans of releasing the new feature to the main grid until stability and deployment issues were fixed. And I suppose you also missed the part in the town hall meeting where they said they have 69% of their team on fixes. Your petition: useless Your cause: fruitless Your time wasted creating this thread: pointless Please people do some reading before you post these kinds of things. The lindens have made the effort to make them available to you, you could do them and yourself a favor by READING them.

well the announced voice feature definitely sounds like a new feature to me. i was hoping they would improve the core sl before adding yet another feature. i'll bet the past month 69% of them have been working on sculpties, voice, and age verification instead of fixing bugs.

FYI - 95 percent of issues people have in SL is their own pc.... sick of people saying its a LL. and nina dont be judging LL when you dont know the progress they have made over the last 4 years.

i have been in-world for a year and thats long enough to come to an opinion. my box is a powerhouse come any game known to man run on high detail, etc. i can quake 100fps and sub250ms to any server in the world. and play quake trying to use the railgun! if it performed as badly as sl... my god i cant imagine it. sl ran ok on 1.14. 1.13 was better, 1.15 is the worst yet, and 1.16 seems to be about voice and age verification. my machine is not to blame. i am an old school gamer of 15 years experience and i know how to set up my machine and maximise game performance. the problem is sl, not my box. stop being condescending. i've forgotten more in the last 5 minutes than you will ever know about running demanding games to the bleeding end of what is possible on any given machine.

Do a driver update anyway. I'd be willing to bet that some piece of hardware you have has a driver that's good enough for Quake, but not the newest. And SL will never get 100 fps. Most views with a range of 64 m (the lowest) have more polys than your entire Quake maps. Though, if you'd like you can try disabling all rendering and see what theoretical frame rates your machine could produce... (my machine can render nothing at a rate of 60 frames per second). Also note that the eye can not distinguish motion any smoother than about 40 frames a second (that is, higher FPS than that doesn't matter).

From: Nina Stepford . stop being condescending. i've forgotten more in the last 5 minutes than you will ever know about running demanding games to the bleeding end of what is possible on any given machine. A bit of a conflict of thought on that statement. But i do agree in the sense that a lot of the problems are not user related. Yes, upgrading memory solved most of my performance issues, but sim crashes, inventory loss, logon failures, and a lot of the bottlenecking is on their end, not ours.

From: Tya Fallingbridge FYI - 95 percent of issues people have in SL is their own pc.... sick of people saying its a LL. and nina dont be judging LL when you dont know the progress they have made over the last 4 years. FYI: 95% of the users that make these kinds of threads are just pushing their agenda without doing nothing and just trying to look impressive in front of their friends and appear to be contributing to something worthwhile, they're more than happy to sit on the main grid and collect their stipend instead of hopping onto the beta grid to test the client for bugs. Therefore to the people who are complaining and doing nothing to help LL find bugs; I don't feel the least bit sorry for you.

Therefore to the people who are complaining and doing nothing to help LL find bugs; I don't feel the least bit sorry for you. 87.5% of all statistics are made up. And... please, you'll wake the "I pay good money to play this game, I shouldn't have to beta test it." mob. Sshhhhh.
