We're at 1.7.4 (5) now... won't be long until we get to 1.7.14.

I'm as pissed off as anyone with the performance of 1.7, but at this point it's too late to go back to 1.6. Just means we'll have to go through this all again at some future date. Best thing we can do is suck up and deal with it while (hopefully) the Lindens work at squashing all the bugs. (And hopefully pay extra close attention to make sure this nonsense doesn't happen with 1.

But 1.5.1(2) was the real hot stuff.

Mmm, 1.7 was definately not the worst update, so I agree with what some have mentioned - move forward. I'm having texture rezzing issues and lag from everything having to reload every 5 min ( not to mention when switching between sl and Adobe Photoshop everything really slows down..) ...but thats about it. I use to crash often and I don't really anymore ....I think sl is progressing , so why go back ? ...the only way to further progress would be to fix current issues rather than have lindens send out a 1.6 update (downdate?) Great work Lindens...good luck with fixing all the bugs 1.7 came with From: Lizzie Bergson since the last update of 1.7.4 i have not been able to get logged on to sl at all so i am missing out on all the fun and have sent emails to the support lab but still waiting on a reply its been 2 wekks since the last update & i cant get on to sl that's odd, sorry to hear that

I... dont even see anything differnt from 1.6 to 1.7 other then the new image when you rez.... i mean i dont have any lag where i am about to die but why go back? moving forward will most likely fix all the problems you have now and some new features

On a Windows computer, they are stored under C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\SecondLife\logs where %USERNAME% is your Windows logon username. When your SL client crashes, you'll have the last logs there. You might try to send them as attachments to LL to their tech support email, that will help them a lot to figure out what might be wrong with your configuration that makes you unable to log in. The more data you can provide them to work with, the more likely they'll be able to help you out quickly. Logins were slow under the first releases of every new patch (it's usual — everybody wishes to log in at the same time as soon as a brand new version comes out!) but I have found out that lately there are absolutely no login problems, and I definitely test SL out at several different hours...
