Have ANY of the interface changes been an improvement? It's like someone went and made every commonly used part worse or different in some way as to annoy everyone =S

I get sick and tired of having to re-learn SL after every update...the pie changes, the edit/create behaviour changes, the mousing changes, the keyboard buffering changes, the lag increases, chat doesn't pop back, the pay doesn't default to the amount field....

GEEZ! You (insert politically correct substitution for idiots)! Don't you realize that you're alienating your user base? Fix the wrong stuff...I realize that Uncle Phil Linden wants you to show him what you "have done for him lately," but what good will that do if the only ones left are Lindens?

I love the SL platform, and spend an enormous amount of time and money here. I can't help but think that someone is going to develop a similar platform in the near future, and have a REAL business plan.

"If it feels good, do it" is not really the most effective way to manage program development...and if you don't understand this statement, read Philip Linden's blog: http://secondlife.blogs.com/philip/2006/07/the_tao_of_lind.html and all the responses. You'll understand why this version of SL is the buggiest yet!

After today's "update" I was thinking what would it be like if all the paid memberships (no offense free accounts) stopped logging on for a few days, or maybe even a week or more? We would still be collecting our stipend, but we would not be spending, we would not be buying land, spending money uploading things, spending money at all, but our businesses, if we have them would continue to generate revenue for us. Maybe I'm all wrong, but somehow we need to send a message that we are not happy, and the best way I know to get a point across is to hit someone in their wallet.

All the screwed up things surely take the pleasure out of SL for me, and why else would someone want to go there if not for entertainment and relaxation first and foremost?

Unecessary? Irritating? I was thinking 'a formerly unprecedented level of idiocy.'

Seriously, they need that UI expert and FAST. It's completely beyond me why they went and randomly changed a UI element that's been in the same place for years. Do they just not think about what they do, at all?

It's driving me insane! And now they broke mousewheeling in the chat history window. I've come to the conclusion that it's actually impossible for them to do a release that doesn't break anything new.

^ Bug that's been fixed internally, as well as Ctrl-Enter not working for shout.

I've replied to Sel and am going to dive deeper about this.

Who's got a better suggestion for the ordering of the pie menu? Revert it back to "Take Copy" @ 12 o'clock, or something even better?

Torley, just switch "Wear" with "Take Copy" like it used to be, that should be more then enough to make people happy.

Wear didn't used to be at "Take Copy", it used to be at "More".

More was added to allow for the expansion in rating.

I say, turn *rate* into a submenu selector, then put Wear back at the bottom and "take Copy" at the top.

And while you're in there, put "exchange cards" in the first menu, and move "add friend" to the second level. Or even make that a new "Friends & Acquaintances" menu. It's too hard to do it any other way.

Currently, this means not being inworld as Torley Linden as much as I’d like, because I get so many IMs it’s hard to keep up. So I find myself a quiet place, sometimes logged in with a tester alt, maybe on a Preview, and go about my business.

Restore TAKE COPY to the throne!

Definitely, putting Take Copy back at 12 o'clock would be wonderful. Other commands that have always been there should stay where they've always been: Delete at 3 o'clock, Return at 7 o'clock, etc.

Personally I don't much care where Wear goes since I never Wear stuff (intentionally) from in-world. I almost always Wear from Inventory. As one of the lesser-used commands in that pie menu, it makes sense to me to put it in one of the secondary positions rather than one of the four cardinal directions. Where will Wear go now?

I have to agree. Please put Take Copy back where it was. First time I was working on Tringo after this happened I ended up wearing a scoreboard :/ I haven't felt like such a newbie in ages. What bothers me even more is I don't recall ever seeing any mention of this in release notes. Maybe I missed it, but I always make a point of looking through them at least once so it'd surprise me if I did. If you REALLY must change these things please at least give us some warning in the future.

I'm like Selaras and some of the others in that I never ever wear anything directly from in world anyway. Mainly because I've had some nasty experiences with bugs doing that in the past. I question whether Wear really needs to be in the pie menu at all.

yep, this is very annoying. it's not really a bad thing, just annoying. we will get used to it eventually but it's odd that it had to move swapped in the first place :/
