I'm not suggesting that you did this, but just a general tip for dealing with this kind of situation... don't IM the creator in an accusatory manner, acting as if you've been ripped off. IM them and politely explain that you really like the item but it's not working for you because... Chances are they'll happily adjust it for you and appreciate the constructive criticism. If you're rude and demanding then chances are you'll get a "talk to the hand."

I don't think that was the problem - the problem was that she was forcing him to search for her store, when he couldn't remember the name, instead of just offering the tp like he asked for.

You people that keep telling the OP to resize his feet are obviously ignoring the fact that both pairs look ridiculous on him! Please give him the courtesy of reading his hilarious post all the way through.

I don't know if I'm rare in my thinking, but once I got my avatar the way I wanted it, all the sizings became "sacred." I'd no sooner resize a body part for a clothing item than I'd turn into a furry. Then again, I'm picky about my skin and body, but I'm not much of a clothing person. I took my shirt off on Orientation Island and never put one on again. I have no hair, I still wear newbie pants and shoes, and I'm happy.

Like I said I'm not accusing the OP of being rude since I don't know how it all transpired, but it sounds like by that point the creator was on the defensive. Scaling prim shoes to fit the customers foot would have taken all of 30 seconds so it's not unreasonable to think there were mitigating circumstances that made her less than enthusiastic about doing so. The point being that very few people are actually that unhelpful or rude and it's really not hard to get good customer service if you simply approach people politely, or butter them up just a little.

Although I'm not so picky about being furry, my rather Amazonian AV's look very odd with size 0 feet -- shoe makers drive me batty.

Though I don't make shoes, from what I think I've learned about making content for avatars, the standard practice of "all feet to zero" has a lot to do with the fact that it's difficult to make prim items that account for avatars of different sizes. Unless the shoe buyer is savvy in making adjustments, it's a lot easier to set foot size to zero than to play with the prim size. And if the buyer is prim savvy, then there's nothing (other than no mod.) that prevents them from sizing the shoes so that they fit something other than size zero. I wouldn't blame the shoe makers- I think the foot-size-0 standard is just one of those necessary compromises forced by the inherent limitations of the way graphics work in Second Life.

Well, having my partner make me a pair of shoes, and my own experimentation -- the goofiness is the the way the foot shape changes vs. avatar height -- it takes more than a simple resizing to account for this. And I do understand the problems with people manually prim-copying shoes. I just *sniffly* want heels for my size 35 feet, and I get frustrated. :o

Not trying to pick on you, Amity. But I hope you're not defending the practice of selling something that is worthless to the customer, because it's "just too hard" to provide a product that people can use. If a product is marketed attractively, but in reality is useless, like I believe this one is, then selling it is a fraud. If they can't figure out how to make proper poducts, then they have no right to be in business.

My question would be for the shoemaker: why the hell not just make a freakin' middle size? It would take her 2 minutes, and she wouldn't forever be ducking angry customers.

He said specifically that one set of shoes looked like clown shoes, and one was really tiny. Thats not a foot size issue. Unless you are going to suggest he resize his leg muscles, length.. etc, so that when his feet are in the tiny ones you can see them, or when hes wearing the bigger ones he doesnt look like a clown?

Unfortunatly its your responsibility to know what you pay for,

How is this possible? In RL I can look at a pair of shoes and even try them on before I purchase. Shopping in SL usually consists of purchasing from a signboard and hoping for the best. It's not a matter of buyer beware, it's more like a shell game.

*nods*

This advice similarly applies to LL, screaming and shouting won't endear you to them.

I'm going to move this to CVF, it doesn't fit in RA

The store was in her profile the whole time BTW...
