I've noticed problems with lost items too, even before 1.6, but it seems things are getting worse with the upgrade, not better. Also, as usual, the stupid teleporters are constantly timing out, requiring detachment of most or all of your wearable objects. I would like to know exactly what these upgrades are accomplishing when known issues with objects deletion and failing transporters (basic components of the system) continue to be an issue. Maybe it is time that someone serious fix these core issues once and for all.
I also second the notion of some sort of backup capability, esp. given the amount of money some of these items cost or the inability to get copies of limited or nonexistent originals.
People pay good money to use this system. Some pay more than $200 a month, and these basic foundational issues really need to be resolved.

I was given a really cool shirt today from a designer and went to find it and it was no where to be found. I thought it was me... I have searched my inventory all over and nothing. I don't own land so I can't have lost it there. I am missing some scripts too...  ( |

Just to follow up on missing items - A couple of days ago, all the stuff I lost 3 months ago was returned to my inventory! HURRAH!!! - $L1000 worth of objects came back to me!
But then yesterday I lost a complete set of animations, worth $L1000!

about a month or so ago I lost a $600 tinies animation overrider package. I still have the box it came in, but the over-rider itself and all the animations that came with it just evaporated without a trace. POOF! Grrr... It really turns you off to the idea of buying things, or even wanting to spend time in SL.

Someone mentioned that clashing scripts is the culprit in the cases like the elevator/robot disappearing completely *poof*  The updates are causing some scripts to malfunction. Clashing scripts also will crash a sim and throw a whole room full of dancing avis at a club opening out of the game (as I learned last night  ) As for inventory, it's floating around in the Linden's assett server and you have to send an email to [email]support@lindenlabs.com[/email] with "inventory lost" in the subject line, according to Kona Linden at a meeting,uuhh, 2 updates ago. I tried it and got my stuff back within one day. Teleports? Go with ROAM |
