Anyone Else Having Problems With Inventory Items Disappearing?

Since the new upgrade last week, I am having issues with inventory items not appearing in my inventory when someone sends them. I have also had the problem of placing items in my shoppe, and they disappear, and never return to my inventory. I don't know what is going on, but the issue needs to be addressed...especially when I pay for 90% of my items, and other items that are gifted to me are usually created by someone, and I don't want to lose them. This morning, I received a Linden Bear, from a Linden while online, and never received it in inventory. This is happening fairly regularly, and I would like to know if anyone else is having this same issue. Also, awhile back my husband lost an entire directory from his inventory, something that still is upsetting... there should be a way we as users can backup our inventory offline to our harddrives...to prevent this from happening over and over again.

I have not seen this, but I have seen really really slow loads on the inventory, so not all showing up at first..

If you want to be sure, but put lots of load on the asset server, so do a search (forces entire inventory load) and make sure it was just not loaded..(you will see the count on top of inventory window until it is fully done).

In the 1.6.5 preview grid, one of the known issues they were having people test was something that sounds familiar here. I'm not sure it explains all of your problems, but it may explain some.

Basically, if you create a folder of stuff and give it to someone, sometimes they can accept it but it never shows up in their inventory. If they relog, it'll show up. I think this is separate from the issue you described about putting stuff in your store, though.

This was known before 1.6.5 was released, but maybe they didn't have time to patch it before they pushed it to the grid because of the login crisis, or something. Dunno.

If someone sends me a folder of things it is 100% repeatable the folder will not appear in my inventory until I relog. Every single time.

I have had the same problem. Untill I log off and back on, the folder does not appear; THEN I sometimes have several of them!
Duplicates may be due to other person gifting them multple times, but maybe not.

It may be, but that's not my problem right now.

Since 1.6, I've had at least 7 scripts and an expensive bed disappear. The first 6 scripts were individual animations. I made the assumption that I'd done something to destroy them, but now I'm not so sure. The bed was a new item I'd purchased for my house. It has simply vanished off the face of the earth. None of the items are in my "Trash" folder.

Today the key script in my dance animation chimera disappeared. All of the other files are in the sphere except for one -- the central control script. As a result, I'm out the $800L for the sphere if I have to replace it (and risk losing more scripts) unless Owen Khan answers my IM. Judging from how busy some folks are I can't even be sure he'll see the IM. I may have to send him a notecard as well.

I'm not the only one to report disappearing items. One of my friends tells me her neighbors' house has vanished and he can't figure out where it went.

I'm sure it is. But there is another problem that seems to have appeared with 1.6 -- I'm actually losing inventory items completely.

First, I bought a nice big mahogany 4-poster bed for my house. It wasn't cheap for someone whose income in SL is still mostly stipend. I placed it in my bedroom, then realized that I needed to adjust the position of the house if I wanted to add a hottub out front. So I clicked on "Take" to return it to inventory, did the repositioning, and now the bed is gone.

I've relogged probably dozens of times since then. I've checked my "Trash" folder, I've search inventory for "bed" -- and nothing is there. It's gone.

If that didn't raise suspicions, I was reorganizing my dance scripts. I moved six of them to a dance bracelet but they never showed up. And, like the bed, they're not in inventory.

But the final capper was last night. I've had an Owenimations dance ball since my second week in SL, and it's been a source of great fun for me. But yesterday for some reason it stopped working. I did what I normally do -- unequip/reequip, relog, reattach, etc., and nothing worked. Finally I opened it up and read off the list of script files inside. A friend read off the list in his and it was then I realized that one of the scripts was no longer there. I hadn't touched any of the animation scripts inside the ball, ever. But it's not in inventory, not in search, not in trash. Gone.

Please, Lindens, can you figure out what is going on here? I'm NOT the only one who has been losing items since 1.6.

Well, that had happened to me two times already since 1.6, first I totally lost my games folder, My fishing rod, My darklife stuff, chess/checkers board and so, all of it lost, paid easily like 3000l for that, also recently like 2-3 subversions before I lost a full texture folder with about 80 textures in it, another lot of money lost.....Im a bit bothered about this....

well whatever they did today, NOTHING seems to be working right. there should be a rollback immediatly, this is insane

I would list all the probs, but i KNOW im not the only one having them. U name it its happening, TPs dont work, items gone, things wont attach

I try to fly somewhere and fly across a 15,000 m sim

i have never seen the need for a rollback in a mmog like i see right now

Any chance the items everyone is losing are turning up in someone else's inventory? Nah, they would post about that right? I think Linden should allow everyone who lost something to put it in a FREE classified ad, since the reason for the update was to put Classified tab on the Find Menu. At least it would be entertaining to see what other people have lost, since I can't TP anywhere, the jetpack Torley gave me has some bugs I can't figure out (SCROO the Jetpack!!), and all I can do is stay home NOT decorating because nothing will rez in a reasonable amount of time...

I will contact you in game for a tutorial, as apparently nothing on the notecard instructions sunk in. Was frustrated already, trying to leave a place quickly, and ended up stuck somewhere. Other places I tried to get to were not available or not able to reach them from where I was.

I gave copies of the pack to my friends from Spain and Netherlands. Haven't heard back what their experience was. Another friend from East Coast also got lost in a sim and had to relog...

I have had this as well, and called LL on the phone about it, what I was told was to wait a day or two. I did and it showed up the next morning.

Today I lost five really cool fish from my fishtank. I got a message saying each one swam off the world, and to look in my lost and found folder for them. Well, they are not there or anywhere in my inventory. Nothing more sad than a great looking aquarium void of fish! Hi Rose!

Well, 2 days ago I lost my plot in the forest: a house, 3 poseballs, chair, bed, computer and a swinger chair when they got returned by an irresponsable officer....

I've been noticing this problem for Payment Podium when I hand the losing contestant a folder full of 'lovely' parting gifts.

Some days it happens, some it doesn't. When it does - it seems to happen to every contestant, and I end up having to pass each of the items one-by-one, which is a drag.

I don't think it's just the latest version that's causing this. I lost a pair of shoes some months back. Just rezzed them on the floor in front of me and they disappeared, never to return. After the update previous to this, some jewellery stopped working. There are no scripts in it, and it's still in my inventory, but it can't be used. I can't rez or attach it, it just sits there. I was in a rented place, and the sim was sold. The owner of the sim returned my items back to me, but I lost one ball from two separate animation sets, 3 or 4 pieces of furniture and a scripted shower.
Latest incident was the weirdest this did happen immediately after the latest update - I had a Nexcom phone attached to my avi. Before my very eyes it detached itself and visibly floated away. I wasn't doing anything with it at the time! I looked at the edge of the sim, and keep checking my Lost and Found/Objects/Trash folders but it's still gone.
We really should be able to back up inventories offline. Is there a vote open on this yet?

I've been building coding quite a bit recently in a usually stable and fast sim (pretty much have it to myself alot of the time but I've notice occassionally the asset server will 'hiccup' and objects and scripts will revert back to a version I had earier.
so of course I'm having to save scripts to notepad before I close the window.

This morning I go flat out disconnected twice, but YIM and Tapdance were having trouble as well, so it was probably just my DSL.

I lost my elevator wich worked for almost a year, after patch it was gone. Not in lost and found as it was on my own land. I have a new elevator now and i have to replace it about every two days, yes, you read it right, every two days it just poofs.
Same with my guarding robot (wich i just use for his looks not to guard), it just poofs and dissapears forever.
That this happened is checked by a Linden (sorry i don't remember his name but it was the euro hours working Linden) who scanned my whole land to look for the elevator, he said it had to do with the patch and will hopefully be fixed in the next patch.
