Well boy I'm sure glad I got the free account to check out SL. I was having a bit of fun in Tutorial Land. It seemed to run pretty well. Then I went into the real areas where I saw just how bad things really are with the bugs and LAG. Then come to these forums and read a few threads. It sounds like the usual corporate b.s. to me. i.e. continuing to add content but not fix big problems, not listening to the users, bad suport, etc. I doubt I'll even launch the client again. A shame, too, it seemed to have a lot of potential.

Hope you don't give up too fast. While there's a lot of lag, bad builds and same old same old going on, there's also a lot of amazing stuff in SL. It's become a very big place.

I'm still ecstatic about getting multiple select in inventory.

Back in the day when you mentioned SL to someone, they either said "WTH is that?" or "Oh! That computer geek's paradise."

Ahh how I long for those days.

At least now SL is becoming a meme and it is becoming more recognized in the general population, the main stream media is even paying attention. The surge of new residents is amazing and it will hopefully show LL that they need to do something now, even if that means a total rebuild from the ground up and changing their strategy on things.

This is not a good thing for me. I tend to find that things turn into crap whenever they become popular and mainstream and that is usually the point I lose interest because it loses something. It loses its soul. Hopefully I will be able to find the "good old days" again in a new lesser known virtual world.
