Hey Hydra. Anyway what's worse is even if that new person could get in, they'd be bored to tears as barely anyone else is on. I just got on a second ago but everything is a ghost town. Only one other person on my massive friends list is online, that's how bad it is. Oh well, they'll fix it eventually.

1.6.5 dosen't work

I am NOT waiting twenty minutes to log on to a chat program even if it IS 3d. What a waste. Who screwed this software up? Tell you what. Let's LIMIT inventories and SL better get some database servers online pronto to handle the load. It's either that or SL is dead like it is now DEAD.

Not just Lag
05-16-2005 15:40
It isn't just lag that is a problem it is not being able to log on at all that is a problem. At the moment a good bit of what is done with SL is server side. Why? Does it really have to all be server side? wouldn't client side make less of a demand on servers? And isn't there something that could be changed to client side to avoid some of the problems we have from server side issues?
Sorry, people, I just see no excuse for this mess and when you consider this is SL "world-wide", it ends up that Linden is taking our money and lots of it and we are getting squat. I've not only invested real money in this but a lot of sweat for which I usually get paid $30/hour. I won't get that from Linden, But my point is that my time is worth something to me and I'm getting zilch in return. This is NOT going to last.
Only thing that would make me feel any better is if I got a refund for my membership (three months in advance that I paid) and cash money for the land I own and the Linden Dollars I have. Total value about $100 USD. I suppose hell will freeze over first.
If SL is to last at all, something needs to be done about it and without delay or SL will die an untimely death.

Worth what??

From: Julia Reitveld They obviously know that there are problems. They will be fixed eventually. Just try to have patience and wait, because in general SL is a great game, and I think it's worth the wait Waiting would be fine if it wasn't on my nickle. Why should I pay money for a membership when I can't log on? I'd rather wait until issues are dealt with effectively and THEN start a membership. Now, I've already paid for something I'm not getting and that is a sorry way to do business.

Useless, Awful, Lag, Awful, Horrible...
Luckily I can only agree with one of those statements...Lag
However, I can't find it in my heart to complain about it in such an awful manner. SecondLife is my child. It's experience it's (more than) fair share of growing pains. However, I will continue to pay my dues as I have faith that the Lindens will get things worked out. I guess I'm one of the few blessed with a generous amount of patience.
I must add that by paying annually, I'm getting 4 months free. So SL could be down for 4 months out of the year and that would be fine with me. Might be hard to live though.
