From: Jacques Groshomme Ratings were only temporary. They went away after a few months.
You aren't getting your money back. Nor should you. Thats what they say, but that alone is thing to wonder about......Every 6 months they dropped right? Well thats what they said after awhile ts just stopped. Anyways thats a part of SL history that is done and forgotten. But those that spent money in the last days, should get their money back. Because LLABS did not tell Last min rates that people had no idea that LLAbs was doing away with them. (I too can careless about rating monies spent........) Another part of SL history down the toliet because LLABS seems to be less human and more bird brained these days as they say.

From: Serenarra Trilling You paid to GIVE the rating.
You got what you paid for. The rating WAS given.
You deserve no refund. Let me ask you were you around doing the grand peak time of rates? say 2004 2005? It was a different game really. Those now that got sucked in to gving rates after LLABS failed to warn people in the correct matter and timing......I really feel sorry for......

People still had inflated rates from the 2003 days. Including peopel I knew who hadnt even been on in 6 months.

They definitely expired positive ratings over time for a while, but like I alluded to in msg24, expiration only seemed to kick in when players were active, not inactive. I don't think they expired negative ratings over time... I think they just removed them all at once.

Some people just still dont understand the meaning of rates 2003,2004,(2005 Jan 31 before the rate priced jump to 25L per rate) No ALL rates started being removed after ever 6 months. Then ALL neg rates were removed after one major Update leaving ONLY Positive rates. Rusty you called it right. "but expiration only seemed to kick in when players were active, not inactive." remark I am not really sure about.

From: Rusty Satyr "Fact is" linden lab doesn't have the money you paid them to increase someone's rating.
They sold them on the lindex.
Do I want the L$10,000 or more that I spent in ratings back? Sure?
But I'm not confusing "want" with "deserve" here.
That money is as gone as the postage on last year's christmas cards. Fact is L$ isn't money. It isn't gone. It's something LL types into a computer and people pay for it. It's amazing to me how people take a burn and just shrug their shoulders and move on. Are people here really such LL fanbois? The rating system was invented by LL as a way to actual reputation system. This turned immediately into a grind system to make L$. LL realized they could make money selling L$ after a player started a Lindex type business and was making RL$. LL stomped the guys out of business when they decided to sell L$. Since they print it they can sell if far cheaper than a player can. Soon after LL realized there is money to be made the ratings grind system was abolished. The excuse was only content provider deserve to make money and people were abusing the spirit of the rating system. They also change the cost of rates from 1 L$ to 25 L$. LL change the rating system from a grind to a sink. OK that's fine. They changed the rules again by just eliminating rates. Even if the recent rates were going to roll off then they should be allowed to remain until the roll of point. Didn't happen. People deserve a refund.

Didn't happen. People deserve a refund. The 'roll off process' had obviously either broken or was turned off because it was causing lag. It's been that way for months. How many ratings did you give out last month? We'll start a fund drive to re-imburse you. The rest should have already expired.
