I support your protest of threats of violence against women, such as rape and death. Thank you for once again speaking up for what's right; your heart was in the right place. No offense katykiwi but her heart was NOT in the right place when she decided to pick one person out of many and claim publicly, IN the forums, that this person MUST be the individual who threatened MadameG, with zero evidence, except there was animosity between the two. As for the forum apology....it should be since she blasted Sens in the forums. But I have to agree w/ Moopf...she's an attention whore......dunno why, I can only assume her RL is unsatisfactory for her in some way and so she attempts to act out here. Pathetic really. And here she insinuates that she is not really to blame because she was misled......*cough* bullshit *cough* Nope. I got played like a sucker and should have known better. No offense katykiwi but her heart was NOT in the right place Ulrika is our firecracker who can ignite us but she is human too. She was duped by an elaborate scheme to fool us all about matters that are not at all funny. Any of us would be lucky to have her as the eloquent advocate she is to speak out against issues that may threaten us with harm. It takes a lot of guts to apologize to our forum crowd and I give her a lot of credit for facing more of what she had to know would not be pleasant. She could have just disappeared to lie low without offering an apology, but she didn't. Owning up to mistakes, offering apologies and accepting the consequences of our actions shows what our true character is made of. I see a person courageously facing a mistake she fell into and offering an apology with grace. I admire her guts. _____________________

I'm sure in the (soon to be destroyed) hierarchy of this forum, I have no place showing myself in here, but I have a couple things I'd like to point out:
1. I read Ulrika's accusations and they were absurd to say the least. I can't imagine anyone believing them. Ulrika, you tend to filter the sorts of responses that get to you, whereas you might try being a bit more open to the general consensus of, "calm down". Don't make public apologies and don't make public statements that deserve apologies. 2. You talk about unheard of levels of hatred leading to those threats? Well, walking into them and giving it more publicity, if not starting it all yourselves, is what perpetuates it. 3. Everyone sees the problems of the forums, but really, who's to blame? Perhaps the egos having wars in every thread they can get their hands on? Someone mentioned Ulrika's inconsequentiality. Well guess what folks? Most of us don't think any of you matter. The only way I can see this forum ever working is if they got rid of all of the "big names". Let's just spell it out: You're the problem with the forum. This might seem a bit targeted, but the forums served a purpose that a lot of us could use, and we're not happy to see them go because a few people used it as a platform to be the jocks they never were in high school. 4. There are so many problems with SL and its management, and we had a great opportunity to voice our opinions, but those of you clamoring the loudest were quick to dilute your messages amidst thousands more that tarnished all of our voices. Thanks. Just an aside here. You know what happens when you "get rid of the big names?" New big names fill the vacuum. Not that anything has ever been done exactly like that, except in pogroms. When you suppress speech, and silence those who would speak, it's an exercise you have to repeat over and over, because reasonable free speech cannot be repressed. It simply can't. The entire history of the world has shown that. LL only buys itself time by retreating to the blogs and erasing everyone there they disagree with - if indeed that is going to continue, which it damn well better not. The inconsequentiality relevant here is that of LL. They continually drag themselves into inconsequentiality by behaving if SL were their own personal playroom and they are only going to let certain kids in. How can the modern world take seriously a service/platform run like a medieval monarchy? Or, to be less kind, like a modern totaliarian state? coco _____________________

Cocoanut Koala, I've been a member of quite a few other forums, and through moderation and banning trolls/flamers, none of them ever got as bad as this. I like the idea of freedom, but between taking away everyone's freedom or just the people who cause problems with the forum, I'd take the latter. It's not like they're closing the forums due to your dissenting opinions. They're closing them because you act like a bunch of uncontrolled kids. There is nothing valiant in what you're doing, and proposing anarchy to fuel your ability to fill your life with e-drama doesn't really appeal to me.
