Are there Two Neualtenburgs now?

Some of you may be wondering why there is a Neualtenburg Projekt forum on the secondlife.com forums page since there is also another site that claims to be the official forum for anything Neualtenburg-wise.

The answer to this question is that the forum on secondlife.com is the official forum of the Neualtenburg Projekt.

The sim/city that claims to be Neualtenburg is currently using that name and IP without permission of the content creator, and the only official Neualtenburg exists with The Neualtenburg Projekt as it retains full permissions from the IP holder.

As strange as it may seem, the holders of the sim/city which erroneously calls itself "Neualtenburg" is using it's offsite forums and now issue open letters to LL on the secondlife forums to publicly slander the merits of the Projekt, which they themselves once enjoyed being a part of.

The proper web address, therefore for all information concerning official Neualtenburg Projekt information is neualtenburg.org --and not .info.

The true and real home of The Neualtenburg Projekt is in the soon to be completed Artist's City of Port Neualtenburg

The original Neualtenburg should be renamed Altenneualtenburg, and the projekt town should be of course, Neuneualtenburg.

Actually, this is it's 3rd incarnation therefore the projekt town could also be called Neuneuneualtenburg... Other than that minor suggestion, I think this is a fantastic idea!

There is one Neualtenburg, the City/Sim. There is one Neualtenburg Projekt, the forum. I removed as many of my posts from the errant forum as possible. I was under the false impression it was the official forum of the official City.

If we decide to keep the name after being so tarnished, my guess is we will create a new forum named Neualtenburg City, so as to remove any confusion.

The name is not a Trademark, so anyone and their sister can use the name.

It's real. They actually staged a coup, taking over the N'burg forum, locking dozens of threads, and deleting all new posts -- all this without public discussion or a vote from their democratically elected body. Preceding this action they terminated negotiations with me and thus lost the right to use the Neualtenburg name and other IP. A DMCA notification was issued to LL.

We're all hoping they stop this and just move on.

I appreciation of this momentous children's tantrum I am naming one of my 16m plots as Neualtenburg. You are all hereby ordered to cease and desist calling yourselves by anything except "Lowly Peons with delusions of grandeur".

And my spot is *so* official, I didn't even register a domain name, because I dont want any of you "lowly peons etc etc" coming near it.

I checked with my sources, and it turns out it was not Korean after all. In case there is any confusion, Port Neualtenberg is an alternative-universe Gorean sim, where the women are in power and men are subservient, all with a sort of Dune meets Castle Wolfenstein theme.

Hehhe RUN Ulrika. No justice to be had there.

This whole thing is sticky and there are people I really like on both sides. But the name Neualtenburg is inextricably linked to you and Kendra, as is the apparent design of the sim itself. They are going to have to bring in new builders to continue on, and while their work may be good, it will be different. In the meantime you and Kendra will be working on Port Neualtenburg and it will look like old Neualtenburg.

A rose by any other name? Well why don't we just call a rose a rose.

The point being, the current occupants of Neualtenburg should probably let Ulrika have the Neualtenburg name and proudly unveil a brand new name that says to the world "under new management!" Meanwhile Ulrika and Kendra can continue to work on the original vision of Neualtenburg AS Neualtenburg.

While I do feel that Ulrika should get the name, I sincerely hope BOTH parties have great success in their branching projects as both are projects rooted in ideals that I support and appreciate.

Since the "Neualtenberg" name does seem to belong to Kendra & Ulrika, the owners of the Sim bearing that name do need to change it. Some suggestions:
