While I agree with the idea that everyone has a right to speak and be heard on this forum, where I disagree is where their 'envisioned right' to speak and be heard is constant haranguing and baiting. This has been a constant ongoing thing is frankly quite tiresome. While whatever was edited was indeed probably wrong and against CS and TOS, the words typed intentionally to bait and harass should be viewed as equally wrong. Where does a small number of posters have the right to incite anger and discord in this community just for kicks? Is this not viewed as griefing if done in world? Why not here ?

I couldn't agree more Lecktor. I would imagine the mods see it too. They're not blind. We had a nice peaceful few days on the forums with no flaming at all. Posting here is a privelege, not a right to bait and grind axes with every post. As a forum community we shouldn't have to put up with that crap on such a continual basis, all from the same poster, day in and day out ad nauseum. This person got suspended for libelous posts and when he returned he launched right back in to making the same baseless accusations. Someone with so little self control or regard for others should have their right to post here taken away, permanently.

Pendari I know it must have been hard for you to give up being a Mentor on a matter of principle. It gets you so much respect.



Like Catherine I don't like the look of a mob either. If it was just haranguing and baiting I'd never join the voices speaking out. But it's the lies. The forum mods can't dissect the content of posts and cut out the lies. It's up to us to speak up for the next person who gets slandered, or their site gets slandered, and the next and the next.

Where can I get those glasses? cuz they certainly do have a way of bending people's posts out of whack!

As sad as Pendari resigning from the Mentor program is, she is doing so for an honest reason that is very true to who she is. It is not about just one thing that happened, it is about Pendari knowing that she won't remain quiet in the future because above all else she is protective of those she cares about, which is an admirable trait. It is something that I really respect about her, and because of that I understand her reasons for resigning.

Well I think it is overkill to resign from mentorship over this, but I respect the underlying intent. Its hard to be sad to see someone do what they feel their honor demands.

I am not sure Prokofy, that this action is drama infused. I have no doubt that the sharks will again use it to chum the waters, but Pen, I think is honorable in intention.

This is very sad news. I understand your reasoning behind taking this action, Pen, but I wish you'd reconsider. As SL grows, I believe we are going to continue to have more and more issues like this crop up. It's going to be a very tricky thing for the Lindens to handle, trickier than it is now.

The saddest part is that the crux of this whole matter centers on Cristiano wanting to offer something good and useful and cool to the SL community free of charge that involves a lot of effort and resources on his part. I certainly hope that the way this situation is playing out doesn't discourage others from doing the same in the future. It would be a crying shame if trying to enhance the SL community and add to its features becomes more trouble and headache than it's worth.

Pendari, it is so easy to let others drag you into their drama. Be a good and better friend by just listening and understanding the 99% of others here in the forums are more intelligent to know BS when they see it. I know easier said than done. Sorry to see ya go. Sign up for another volunteer job, from what your friends say, you have alot to offer.
