Resigning as SL Mentor..

As much as I love being a mentor, I managed to hold a clean record for almost 2 years till tonight. I'm sad that I disapointed the lindens. Though not sad for what I said/did. However, I will not allow myself to be used as a vehichle in any way to rant against the lindens. So, tonight I give up my title of mentor. I'm still here to help any who need. I truely love SL.. and all of you!! *hugs*

Don't worry too much about it, you're only one of several that got trapped. We see who is getting the suspension(s), and who is getting the warnings. So do the mods I would imagine. There was one week of relative peace here, now that has ended.

This is truly a loss for the Mentors group. I don't know what happened, but I'm pretty pissed already.

Let's set the record straight here before it gets hopelessly lot in a lot of emotional outpourings. In the course of my debate with another resident, you came in and insulted me rather viciously, out of the blue, not even being in the debate. The post got edited. Why? Because I reported it -- because I learned from all of you that's what I have to do from now on to survive on the forums -- it's what you do, and it's what I never dreamed of doing until the last week or so.

OK. But no one says you have to stop being a mentor or have to resign from being a mentor merely because your post was edited. After all, you didn't get banned or even warned. That's the requirement for being a mentor -- that you be free from bannings. So your resignation then becomes a puzzle, and even a drama.

You certainly weren't used as any vehicle in any rant against the Lindens. Who was ranting against the Lindens? Not me or anyone else in the thread. There was a very specific issue being discussed, it contained no rant against the Lindens whatsoever, but merely a request for statement of policy, but the discussion is over now.

It seems many would like to set me up again as a villain, hated by all, responsible for making even the nicest, warmest, cuddliest people lose their cool. But this was surely not my intention, my discussion was not raised out of malice, it was not done for any reason of deliberate harm, least of all to make someone have their "worst day in SL". It was merely my effort to deal with the "worst days in SL" that others have given *me*. Try to see it in that light. Please try to see it in that light!

When you vilify a person and demonize them, you forget that they actually might act out of simple and understandable and even reasonable motives.

By resigning from this post --- for no good reason that I can see and not at the behest of any Linden -- all you are doing is creating another more elaborate attack on me, trying to make the drama be about "even good people go down fighting the evil Prok" blah blah.

Try to realize that I want what is best for SL, too. That I have a vision, too. That I try to act on what I think is right, too.

I really do think there is no reason to continue with this drama, you should withdraw your resignation and go on with your business.

I really think it's time for this vilification campaign to end, and no, I don't think you should become part of it, just as you once helped begin it with your automatic siding of Pahoa Jade way back when. By doing that back then, Pendari, you and others helped this entire saga come into being -- unnecessarily. Back then it was about a new player holding his own against unreasonable personal attacks and a thread started to deliberately slam one individual and his work, and you took the side of that person sight unseen merely because they were your friend, remember?

I know you are thoughtful and can understand these things. And I'll bet you know that some of the people rushing here to support you now are more my enemies than they are your friends.

All of this could might well have been avoided if you had acted differently then, and now. And it is still possible to turn it around by not using this occasion to make a grand gesture, but just to realize that the mods are told us they are going to be pressuing hard for TOS enforcement against ANYONE (they themselves capitalized it to stress it) and there is no need for dramatic responses.

It's becoming painfully apparent that the same old withchhunting mob is going after one poster again. It's ok to disagree with someone but its my opinion that this group is stepping over the line of what is in good taste, what is fair minded, and what is against the TOS yet again.

So you disagree with Prokofy Neva yeah we got that weeks ago. What your doing now is just plain wrong.

Take responsibility for your own actions, your own deeds and your own words. There is no villian here. If you disagree with a poster mute them or ignore their posts.

Lindens this is gang mentality is getting realy old. It's been going on since the begining of the forums. I hope that one day anyone can post their opinions in these forums without fear of a "certain fansite group" ganging up on members of SL that do not agree with their views.

I too have personaly dealt with this group many many times. Read this thread carefully you will hear it from their own posts.

Thank you to everyone who offered me kind words and support (both here and in world) over this issue. And please understand that I will still be offering help to new and old residents of SL for as long as I am here. *hugs*

I did not start this thread to create drama. I did it for a very specific reason. I screwed up and I am publicly owning up to my actions. I let someone get to me and when I should have just ignored them, I crossed the line and hurled an insult and swears. I was edited, and given an informal warning.

Based on the fact that so many have known me as a mentor for well over a year, I wanted to be sure that everyone knew I am now no longer in that position. I have severed a tie that can now no longer possibly be used to rant against the lindens if my future actions do not live up to the mentor standards. I do not feel I can represent the Lindens at this time until I learn to control my temper when it comes to certain people and situations.

I respect and admire the Lindens for all of their hard work, and I accept that what I did was wrong. So this is me holding myself accountable for my actions.
