Sounds like customer feedback in the forums has its uses, doesn't it? We're actually helping people think of stuff they might not have thought of, that will help make their products and documentation more user friendly for all.

Notecard updated. And, yes, indeed. :)

Customer feedback in the forums have prooven to be extremly valuable in improving various complex products in the early days past shipment, including the Dance-Foo, FreeView, and now - the Rez-Foo.

I am going to miss this feedback ability. Its no match to "direct IMs", simply because forum posts encourages community feedback and involvement as well as community thinking.

Perhaps private forums of some sort would allow feedback in a suitable way?

yes. that'll help people find products and feedback easier. spread them all over teh intarweb! But this isn't the place to discuss that. This is the discussion thread related to Crystalshard's product, as per the Lindens new forum ruling (see stickies in the classified forums).

And since all the linked discussion threads keep getting trolled here far more than they ever did in classifieds, I think we should make the General forum post only.

How does this work? Do you need to put a script into all the objects?

once again i find myself in agreement with kris. All this trolling (which never happened n the classifieds) is making me sad. I think we just might have a small enough minority of whiney people to demand a post-only forum in the generals too!

Yes, you need to drop the script "Structure piece" into every linked set.

This means, that if your house is made if 4000 prims and 6 linked-sets, you'll have to drop only 6 scripts. ( not 4000! )

If I rez some stuff and choose Save, does the Rez-Foo itself disappear, leaving the rest of the stuff in place?

If not, can I delete the Rez-Foo itself after choosing Save and have everything it rezzed remain?

Suppose I've clicked Save, and then I move the Rez-Foo to a different location (or even take the Rez-Foo into my inventory and put it back out another day). If I give it the rez command will it place the building at the last spot I saved, or at the Rez-Foo's current position?

Is the position of the Rez-Foo itself saved when you do a save? Does it have the ability to move itself back to that position, on command? Or does 'save' only save the positions of the pieces it rezzes?

Does it have the ability to auto-acquire items that are already on my property? What I'm getting at is... how long will setup take? How long will it take me to enter all 3000 individual prims on my property into my Rez-Foo if I buy it today?

I've seen this firsthand, and the application is astonishingly well done.

It's a powerful application insofar as it is extremely simple to use and provides such incredibly quick, gratifying results.

It's what edit mode *should* have been.

The only mild drawback to one-prim rezzers is the 'open' command - V1.7 even added the 'open' command to the circly-pie thingy, which tempts people to 'take stuff out' the wrong way.

I had to put a brassy note on my (far simpler) house rezzers because customers new to SL kept opening them.

Another thought - one would have to check with Crystalshard - but I'd suspect one wouldn't have to drop a script in every prim. I'd bet it works with linked objects, too - no LSL or world restriction I can think of that would deny the function.

It's a wicked-powerful app, and again I say - well done!

Nope. Clicking 'Save' just removes the scripts from the Structure pieces and allow you to move the Rez-Foo elsewhere, and rez a new copy.

Yes. :)

The Rez-Foo always rezzes the structure at its current position.

This is because once rezzed, the pieces always arrange themselves around the Rez-Foo, regardless of where it is at, and at which rotation.

Clicking "Save" only locks the pieces in place by removing the "Structure piece" script from them.

Prims have NOTHING to do with the Rez-Foo... Link-Sets do. :)

You may have 3000 individual prims, but how many linked-sets? I bet that alot less then 3000. All you need to do is put a single script in each linked set.

You can get the Rez-Foo instructions for free from the vendor by clicking it. Feel free to check it out and see for yourself how the procedure goes. :)

I do not understand how this got here. Clearly, SL Forums need a Products Discussion forum if the new products are to remain post only.

Jeska, can we please get a forum for product discussion? please? *wonders whom she'd have to send baking to to get that to be considered*

Doesn't make a lot of difference what's in the thread when it's languishing over in Well Wishes. With no explanation from the moderators as to why the fuck it should be. Personally I think it's pathetic. Whatever anyone thinks about my general 'trolling' habits, there is no fucking way that a feedback thread on someone's product should be here. I was doing what we were told to do at the time, since they made it way less than clear what they intended. Frankly, I still don't know what they intended, other than to personally please Brace at the expense of pissing off most everyone else, for some reason. Your world. Your imagination. Just don't fucking talk about it, ok?

Hey, hey, I was supporting you. I think it being moved here to all places just makes your point all the more stronger and thus was funny and got a five.
