Hi CS! Due to the Lindens having an extreme blonde moment which I hope they will reconsider, I can no longer ask you in your own thread New! Rez-Foo: Large volume rezzer & manipulator! so I guess this will be the first of many such posts to General! But anyhoooo.... You use '4000 prim mansion' in your description. Is that some sort of physical limit? Or is there no actual limits to prim numbers, with the only limit being that everything hasta be in 'shout distance' of the rezzor?

Na, the number of prims has nothing to do with the rezzer limits. You can fill up your sim all the way with a single package if you really want to. The only limit is the distance from the rezzer (100m radius) due to sensor/shout distance limitations. However, with some trickery, you can go beyond that range as well - using cascading rezzer packages. If you know any blank sim we can abuse anywhere I can demo just exactly how you can do it. (fun!)

Kewl beanz. I suspected that was the case. I'll make a 15000 prim sculpture and test it with you next time I'm inworld Now couldn't you have invented this some time before I packed up Krittannia 1 and 2?

Kris, what is your forum av? It's strangely satisfying. Looks like a volcano cake regurgitating trout. Watching the Rez-Foo rez builds live in front of you is a real treat.

From: Kris Ritter so I guess this will be the first of many such posts to General!
This sounds to me like a personal conversation and/or notice, not a "General" comment. Though I agree, removing the ability to reply to products was ... not given much (enough) discussion.

From: Hiro Pendragon This sounds to me like a personal conversation and/or notice, not a "General" comment I don't agree. I think any clarification of a feature of the product that isn't necessarily made in the ad is of use to anyone who might be interested in it. And it's relevant to SL. Therefore, if we can't post in the product announcement threads any more, I figure they must want us to discuss things in General. Look forward to PLENTY more where this came from

Though I agree, removing the ability to reply to products was ... not given much (enough) discussion. Ok, well, Just imagine how pissed off creators are going to be getting a bazillion ims about "does, it come in this colour", "Where can I get those", "What does it do? Can it do this and that", "Can you do it for me in this style/colour", "oh neat, how much, you forgot to post that"??? Most. ridiculous. move. ever. Although I do agree sometimes New Products gets spammed, but ppl don't gotta look, can't they just take New Products and Classifieds OFF of the New Post button list thingy?

From: Kris Ritter You speak for everyone do you? Ok. Sorry, everyone. But this is the way it's gonna be. Get used to it I cited the rules - the same set of rules you cited. The rules say "keep private conversations private". We've established over and over again that questions regarding a particular product do *not* belong in General. I don't like the change either, but this is just below the adult level of maturity.

Umm actually in the announcements forum it says to discuss it here? /3/0d/74468/1.htmlClassifieds Forum - a Change
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With the invention of our new do-it-yourself classifieds publishing system built into Second Life 1.7, we announced the closing of the SL Forum Classifieds section. We later reconsidered, based on feedback from the community and agreed to leave the classifieds open.
However, in an effort to better streamline the classified viewing and forum moderation process, we will be returning to a post-only classifieds section of the forums. The discussion about the items will not be allowed inside the classifieds themselves, but will be directed to the appropriate Discussion Forums.

CS i been meaning to post my admiration for your new product! Since I'd much rather rez stuff once, put them up all pretty & the way i like them, & THEN keep them in a single prim box.
However, I do have one house no copy. can i just leave the rez-foo out, make it transparent & phantom, & pick it all up one day when im sick of that house?

This question has two answers:
1)Yes, you can leave the Rez-Foo out. The rez-foo modules are scripted to sense if no change has been done for 10 minutes. Once that happens, the Rez-Foo pieces switch to "sleep" mode - checking the status of the crate only once in 15 seconds rather then once in 0.3 seconds. This reduces the burdain on the sim while the pieces remain un-moved.
The Rez-Foo will switch back to Active if you move the crate box again.
2)No-Copy items are an issue: The Rez-Foo was designed for copyable items only.
When a script (any script!) rez a No-Copy item, it automaticly clears it from the object's inventory. So by the time the rez-foo is done, you'll be left with an empty crate. You will have to collect the pieces on your own and put them back in the crate. Derezing the pieces without taking them into inventory will cause a permament lose. So... no, do avoid using no-copy items on the Rez-Foo, or ANY rezzer script what so ever.
I better write this down on the vendor notecard. o.o

From: CrystalShard Foo I better write this down on the vendor notecard. o.o Sounds like customer feedback in the forums has its uses, doesn't it? We're actually helping people think of stuff they might not have thought of, that will help make their products and documentation more user friendly for all. Shame they nerfed the ability to post in Classifieds, then, really, huh?
