After nearly three months, The Award for the first Annual Metaverse Award recipients was sent to me last Friday. I am absolutely thrilled with the design, I believe it truly represents the spirit of Second Life. Tonight, the recipients recieved these Awards. At the ceremony on March 31st, which maxxed out the sims of Bethel and Brilliant, recipients recieved a placemarker for their award which was still being designed. In the process, nominations were made by the community via a series of catagorical drop boxes followed by a two month long voting process in which many people stepped out to acknowledge and support their peers whose contributions they felt were noteworthy. 2006 recipients included Katt Kongo, Phoenix Psaltery, Nephilaine Protagonist, Odil Lumiere, Elf Clan, Forcythia Wishbringer, The Metaverse Messenger, and Torley Torgeson (Linden). Categories included Achievement in Scripting, Building, Fashion Design, Avatar Design, notable Group Achievement, notable Privately owned Simulator, Humanitarion Award and Innovation Award. A real life, accomplished digital artist was commisioned to create something that would capture the essence of Second Life. A new artist will design the 2007 Metaverse Award. Nominations will begin in November, 2006, followed by the Voting process from January 1st until March first. The community is invited and encouraged to participate. The 2007 Metaverse Awards will be held on March 31st 2007 in an as of yet undecided format and include several new categories in addition to the original eight. More information on the upcoming event and the previous one are available herePhaylen Fairchild

From: Jonas Pierterson Considering the issue with the 'fic' newsletter you sent out..these awards are worth nothing. I beg to differ. Those who received them should be proud of their accomplishments. You sound jealous. Were you or your alt in the competition and lost? That is a rather lame comment from someone I have never heard of before. As an officer of the FIC, I am now putting you on our black list. This mean's no pie for you! Oh and gratz to those who were chosen.

Considering I've never heard of you Devlin, that must make your comment lame as well, eh? For the record, I have no alts, nor am I one.

I find it amusing that someone would disagree with any vote that included enough people to max out two sims, and that was just the people coming to the awards event.
Congratulations to all who won, and thank you Phaylen for organizing this.

Jonas I respect most of what you say and have said, but brother you lost me here.
Even if she did do that henious thing with the FIC papers, and lets all assume she did, those awards were notimated by the resi's and voted on by the resi's. So, even tho I am disgusted by the FIC papers no matter who did them, I appaud the efforts and work of those who won the awards

I have no particular opinion as to this award, but it hardly takes many people to max out two sims, statistically speaking.

I applaud the efforts of all the nominated, rather than a feasibly rigged or selected vote.

No, she said that she was the unnamed person who was being accused of having done it. I am one of those who received that stinking piece of pus in my e-mail box, and I am of the opinion that it was not Phaylen's doing. So unless you know something the rest of us don't, kindly STFU. P2

Jonas, I don't know who you are. You have every right to your opinion, and obviously you feel your conclusions no matter how unfounded are justified, because some told you it was so. And whoever told you I 'admitted' to commiting such a slanderous act against my fellow residents obviously thought you were not smart enough to ever contemplate otherwise.
I'll ask you only once, nicely, not to come on public boards and make ridiculous unfounded claims against me, or my character on an issue that you have absolutely no credible information regarding. I don't engage in flame wars, and I won't further reduce myself to this incessant finger-pointing in response to your effort to look superior on a forum.
You may think whatever you like, or however anyone else wants you to think. Influence is more a part of this issue than any newsletter, and how people can be baited into believing something without anything tangible, just because it seems 'cool.' That is your perogative within this medium, and I won't challenge you. But, I also won't give you the ruler with which to measure your forum penis. So, whatever you have to say, whatever issue you wish to protest, please do so, but keep it out of my threads.
Have a nice day, Phaylen.

If she is denying it now, then she apparently didn't admit to it before. I suggest you go back and reread the post you read. This time try reading it while you are sober though.

Lots of people admit something in court then claim innocence in prison. Or admit it to the cops then deny it in court.
Obviously when they admitted they killed 12 people to the cops, but say they didn't in court, then they aren't lying are they?

LOL care to link me?
I'd probably be the most interested in reading the details of this sordid admission... especially since I've never posted, but once to stand up and say I had been accused, on any SL related forum regarding the issue and won't provide the actual cuplrits such a venue to conduct their drama further. We know who did it, this case has been resolved, we know how it was done, most importantly we have evidence and testimony.
On the flip side, I really hope you enjoyed what you 'read', I'd love to see it myself!

Obviously when they admitted they killed 12 people to the cops, but say they didn't in court, then they aren't lying are they? My apologies, Jonas. I have heard from credible sources that while she has never posted an admission to the documents in question, that she is indeed guilty. Still she has every right to be happy about the reward. Oh, and you are off the blacklist. I am sending you a key lime pie.

Jonas and Devlin, Phaylen didn't write the FIC documents. She was accused of doing so, but there is no proof that she was the author of the FICazoid documents.
Also, she worked very hard to put this event together. Please don't negate what she has done based on rumor and speculation.

I think the voting was set up by Max Case. It was a device that residents clicked on to vote, and once you voted, you couldn't vote again. I doubt she circumvented it, although people logged their alts on to vote. I'm just really frustrates me that people can ruin someone's reputation like this. I've known Phaylen for awhile now, and I have a lot of respect for her. There is a website that is very mean about people, and one person has suggested that *I* wrote it. For some reason, he's not spread that lie around. But if he did, my reputation would suffer too. I think it's important to get to know people, and make up your own mind based on what you've learned.

There was never any evidence, just a lot of manipulation and a lot of victimized people, not just me, but the people accosted in the newsletters. There was only ever a lot of cheap talk and drama, a LOT of accusations that ran the gamut from me being the author to me then being a male, being every resident whod efended me, to me being gay/lesbian and more.
The fact is, a lot of people took someone's word, plain and simple. An accusation was made and a few people only needed that for the sake of their theatrics. I tried to defend myself, my friends who know me and my character tried to defend me but because of a singular select voice in the crowd who riled people up and influenced people to back up his wordy conclusion no matter what was presented to the contrary, I was persecuted. Before this incident I was going about my own business doing my own thing primarily with the very people I was later accused of slandering, my friends and co-workers, and a few people I didn't even know. Bizarrely enough, I was blamed for attacking many of those I was closest to, engaged in a venture with, and directly on the heels of my community effort that some felt offended by - and I can't say I ever encountered a situation like this myself.
Sure, as a result of a few people screaming loudly that I'm guilty it would appear fashionable to join them, and that's fine. I will not argue for the benefit of arguing or defend myself any further to people I don't know and have no relevence to me. Second Life is my personal quality time, and I also won't let that be stolen because of a vicious game of jealousy I refuse to play.
My character speaks for itself, my history as a person involved on many levels with Second Life and the community speaks more than one person bellowing at the top of his or her lungs. The people who matter to me in this world realize this. We know who the culprits are, we know the why, when and how, and that's all we need.
So you are entitled to make up more stories, claim I admitted it, determine that I'm guilty because someone told you I was, that is the reality of Second Life. People are easily manipulated and rallied by an influential party to believe whatever they deem, and I accept that, but I won't participate.
I figure it like this. If this is the worst thing I'm ever accused of is writing a nasty letter about people in a virtual online service, well then I'm quite fortunate.
I regret even responding this far, as to me it's not even worth the attention I've lent it this evening. Believe this one or not, Jonas, I have better things to do with my time, so I'll say nothing more on the matter, ever, because someone is really admiring their handy work and laughing most likely at both of us right now. You for buying it so indiscriminately and me for jumping to my own defense. You keep giving them what they want. I on the other hand will not. Ever.
