After much thought, observation, study, and actual business experience in SL, I've found that there are 2 ways to make it BIG in SL.
1. Do it better - Enter an existing market and offer a product, simply put, that is better than your competition.
2. Enter a New Market - From time to time, new enhancements of SL create new industries in which nobody is an established player. These opportunities provide the cunning businessperson the opportunity to gobble up the lion's share of the market and become the dominant player in the industry. An example of this is Animations. When the ability to animate AVs was introduced into SL, both Cristiano Midnight and Owen Khan jumped on it and overnight became the big dogs of the industry. They also became QUITE wealthy in the process.
So there you have it. Go get 'em all you bright eyed, bushy tailed entrepreneurs!!!

Or go around and get all the freebies you can, change their textures and resell them to new players for outrageous prices. That works, too, doesn't it, Jamie?

Wow.
I heard that the best way to make money in SL was to make something nobody wanted, and to do a very shitty job of it. I was soooo mistaken.

If you sell something that nobody wants, logic follows that you will have very poor sales. In this way, I'd suggest offering something that lots of people want, so that you have a much better / bigger market.

Once upon a time in Second Life, there was a store that sold all kinds of neat stuff (although I heard that some of it was resold freebie items), but it seems like someone told me that it went bankrupt. And I heard the owner is now a self-proclaimed finance/economics guru. Am I the only one that sees an issue here? P2

When I grow up, I want to be just like Christiano.
I am going to do exactly what Jamie said, if I can! Wish me luck.

Geez, isn't that like the 2 most basic principles of business? It's a good thing you studied the problem instead of just using common sense.

Secondly, the picture of me and LilJon (where I'm holding a big gun and chillin) is totally cool.

From: Jamie Bergman Thank you. Most brilliant people are. Just look at Albert Einstein. Stealing others creations to sell as your own and stating the obvious doesn't make you brilliant. The fact you seem to brush these things aside and think yourself as some kind of messiah is what makes you odd.

That doesn't mean you're not an expert, it just means external factors were against you (for a time, at least).

Solution to make this induced forum drama more believable. Get an alt. Remake your "economics" blog under that alt. Wait a few days. Return to trolling the forums with that alt. Drama!

Walks in, sees Lord Wishbringer has already repeated necessary information, sighs and walks back out of another "Bargain Bin, LOOK AT ME" thread.
