These guys bought these lands for $1 resold them to some land barons FOR CHEAP you can go and see inworld which land barons took advantage while buying these CHEAP SIMS.
AND THIS IS NOT FAIR. I BOUGHT $1100 sims. and they bought $1!
What is this?
NOW land market is broken. No competition chance. HOW CAN THERE BE? $1 cost at one side and $1000 cost at another site.
Bye bye LL i am done here, tiering down to 0 from 7 sims tier.

Every resident please check auction pages to see $1 auctions and go inworld which people bought them.

This is the bigest scandal i have ever seen, sims are sold from hands to hands. LL wont be able to roll it back... I am realld mad. WHY I PAID $1000s of USDs TO BUY SIMS?

So you are telling me that if you saw sims priced at 1$ you would have passed them up? Linden Labs listed the price as 1$, and thats what people payed for them. You are accusing them for a mistake on LL part?

I saw once a sim which i didnt won on auctions set to L$1 to my name, and i DIDNT BUY IT. Just emailed to LL that there was a mistake. I CAN PROVE THIS but YOU CANT UNDERSTAND and your post has no meaning at this situation.

No, Knox, they were NOT listed as one. You.. er... Mez started the auctions while they were out of public view.

Linden Lab must freeze all buyers'/sellers' L$ and usd accounts who made sells or purchases on these sims NOW(Even the ones they transferred L$ to hide). And must roll back them. It will be hard but i am not accepting any other solution about this scandal.
Else this will be the biggest example for why a virtual ECONOMY cant work: BUGS which can make you loose 1000s of usds.

Its rediculous that their accounts are on hold. LL made a big mistake, and the auctions are there and can be bid on and won. How is it that the winners of the auctions, are being booted? Its not their fault, what if your SL stuff is accidentally set for free, you cant take it back from the people that dicover this and take it. LL didnt set it up that way. If Anshechung can buy all the SL land that goes up for auction, and normally does, How does anyone else have a chance at all? Thats the issue here. Its rediculous, What, IS SL GONNA EVENTUALLY BE CALLED ANSHECHUNG LIFE?

Honestly, I was kinda hoping that LL had done this on purpose so that other poeple, you know, people who are real people in SL that love the game and love being there creating and living there, had finally gotten a head above Anshechung, hmmm maybe LL and anshechung are in this together.

the auction number was there... all you had to do was look at that auction...

Bid whatever you could afford above the minimum bid LISTED PUBLICLY...

Actually KAZ... I noticed you are also a BIG land Barron too... I also Noticed SEVERAL of the auctions Master and Mistress BID ON LEGALLY was Land that you had previously bid money on, but never collected...

The land then went back ON auction after one week... Your account was charged $25 (which at last count was a whole lot LESS than $1100) ... all acording to the rules...

... I think that you are just mad because before you could go back to claim your $1 auction, ($26 still > $1100) ... someone actually made an effort and saw the second auction number as it was listed, with no minimum bid...

For the Record: Kazenture is a REALLY BIG Land Sales Group too ... How many sims did you say you have bought sold and otherwise made a proffit on?

You are completely WRONG. I bought all of the sims i won on the auctions for at least $1000. I never did soemthing like not paying for any of the sims i won. My accout never CHARGED $25.

The only possible reason I can think of that LL is continuing to allow them to post is to gather evidence against them for abusing the system. If I am not mistaken in VBulletin the administrators can see their IP Address. Using a proxy you say?

Well proxies can be traced too with some determination and just cause. I'd say that cheating LL out of a few thousand dollars would be just cause!

What they did is no different from hacking! People know that you are supposed to put in a product key for MS WIN software. Not putting in the Product Key and bypassing it using ANY method is against the terms of use and illegal as well.

So what they did may be seen as illegal and they should start focusing more on being more honest in some other virtual 3d world. They should be praying that LL doesn't do anything more than ban them (and their alts).

In theory, don't actually know, but they were told about it already with the previous person notifying them, so why didn't they fix it then? Not saying there was no wrong, just a question of if they had been told previously of this issue why let it go if so much was at risk?

Nice point, Actually a sim is a software system. And when a sim auctioned on the web page, it means it is ready for sale. Now the ones who bought them for $1, just copied the CD without any lcience.
Noone can say : "I bought Windows XP for $1 at that market, how could i know it was a pirate copy?" It is clearly stated that an auction is ready when it is on the auction home web page:

So they clearly robed LL, and i suggest them to find a good lawyer.

Please don't exploit this to smear your competitors. I bug reported incorrectly priced auctions Mar 19th and talked to several lindens about. I was told they were actually going for $1000US and it was just a display error on the website. Buying land from residents who need to get rid of it below market then reselling it at market isn't taking advantage it's our business and that includes you. Were the exploiters wrong? yes Were those of us that bought land off of them wrong? no We were just doing business with no way of knowing they didn't actually pay for the land.

Smearing my competitors? I've never smeared my competitors although i had enough info to smear some of them if i wanted to.
Of course i know it was not their mistake, i was trying to warn LL to take necessary actions before it is too late.
And i appraciate that your lands(which you bought from this guy) is not up for sale.
And i know another land baron(a very honest land buyer-seller) too also put it on hold.
But just remember how some land barons were angry while some other barons buying $5000 bulk auctions.They were saying too many unnecessary new sims.
Now 5 sims for $5, and try to figure out how i am angry. It is not personal.

I can see what your upset about but what I took issue with was you telling people they could look up the plots to see who "took advantage" by buying the exploited land cheap. Either you are accusing us of being complicate and taking advantage or your not and your being unfair to us telling people we took advantage by doing our jobs the same way you would.

The funny thing is that the ppl that bought the cheap sim IM'd me to sell me some sim for cheap, and i refused. I didn't knew they paid it 1US$ -_-

Same happened to one of my group. And when she did not answer fast enough (deep night for us here in Europe) she got back the answerWhich is not surprising. Buying it at nearly 0L$ per sqm and reselling at 3.7 is a nice business model. Too sad that others in the land business can't take advantage of it.

This is obviously an exploit of a glitch in the system. But I don't expect it to be easy to do any kind of roll back or compensation. The land has changed hands probably too often already and most of the time "in good faith" (there are sellers who want to leave the business and go as low as 3.7). Sighs.
