From: Anshe Chung I will donate 500000 L$ to Ginko victims under following conditions:
1. Ginko stops taking deposits 2. Nicholas admits that Ginko is not profitable, apologizes to the SL community and admits that I was right 3. Nicholas immediately begins to reimburse depositers their money, well, I guess everybody some share of what is still left
This offer stand for 7 days.
I put my money where my mouth is. Will the people who defended Ginko do same now? Anyone going donate one Ginko "insurance funds"? I have no vested interest in Ginko or any other investment group in SL. As someone who has nothing to lose or gain either way, I still felt uneasy when I read this. If everyone who has invested in Ginko takes your offer to withdraw from Ginko within 7 days, won't that certainly bring ruination to Ginko? I just don't see how this offer could be considered ethical. Now, if you remove the 7 day requirement, that would provide investors time to really think about what they want to do, and would give Ginko time to consult with their investors. The 7 day factor seems like a genuine stong-arm tactic to me. It's pobably moot, anyway. I doubt that Ginko would comply with your conditions, even if their investors bailed in order to receive that 500,000 Linden dollars.

From: Anshe Chung Lets assume I am right and Ginko is one Ponzi scheme. What else would you suggest do about it other then make it stop ASAP?
You can not seriously expect me to *feed* that scheme and help it *grow bigger* by insuring it ?!?!??!?!!!!!! What would I suggest you do? The phrase "live and let live" comes to mind. I didn't request you insure Ginko, I requested you insure the customers of anshechung.com. Sorry if my restatement of the request was ambiguous.

From: DogSpot Boxer That's what AC wants. I know. I guess what really puzzles me is that she is assuming SL players who make risky investments need a protector. In the real world we all know people who make risky investments, even after being warned about the risks. Sometimes they win... sometimes they lose their shirts. It's the individual's call, in my opinion.

As much as I abhor the attempt to ruin other people's businesses (whoever they are), Anshe has raised questions in my mind about Ginko. Caveat: Previously I was oblivious to Ginko. Also, I don't understand these business and economic things very well, and I am not in Ginko; also, I have not read every last thread and post about them. But I do have this question: Why doesn't Ginko just say what they do with the money? Why don't they just explain how these returns are possible? coco

From: Malachi Petunia I compliment you on your self-sacrifice for the commonweal. There are few who would stoop so low in order to selflessly benefit others.
THAT is the first post about the entire episode that has put a grin on my face - thank you!
