http://www.petitiononline.com/SLPolicy/petition.html

I created this petition because I wanted to give PAYING SL citizens a chance to voice their opinions to linden lab. I personally am a club owner and have spent countless days and money investing in my club/scripting everything building everything and now that it is all perfect this happens. Its all put to waste. I just hope linden labs comes to their senses before its too late.

Spread it around please (to groups you belong to ect) , and sign it with your SL name if you agree to it. Thanks.
Updates on petition:
156 signitures withing 1 hour of releasing to the SL public, and growing.
roughly 500+ signitures in less then 10 hours.

Philip, a lot of people dislike these upcomming economic changes. Many who have posted, and A LARGE amount of in game players I have talked to are ON HOLD at selling their land/cancelling their accounts/closing down shops/quitting /cancelling buying new islands or land and waiting to see if the petition will work or not. These residents range from owners of large SL bussiness/large land owners/club owners and just general people. If it doesn't work, and the economic changes still go thru reguardless of what a large portion of the SL population wants, countless people will react and SL won't be the same. I don't see how LL can ignore such a large amount of people. What makes Sl a fun place to be is its residents, but apparently not to LL. Please reconsider your plans!

Eh. Being one of the few people around here (apparently) who's taken an economics class, I like these changes. They're slightly drastic, but you can be a bit more drastic in populations smaller than a countries' and still keep stability.

Personally, I'm not sure if I like the changes or not. I certainly don't see them as the precursor of armaggedon. I'm taking a wait and see attitude to this. The world turns, and this is just history repeating itself, just as it did last this time last year.

I mean COME ON people get real!!!
LOL Is that why we are all really here?

I signed the petition tho just because. :p

400 signitures and growing in less then a day after the petition started, when will Linden Labs take a hint? Only a small majority of the population of SL seems to agree with these new changes, probably being the uber rich folk.

Good luck earning money LL, you will need it.

Also, I asked Philip this...

"Theres better ways to deal with inflation besides taking money out of the economy in such a drastic way. How about raising prices over time as one?"

in responce he said "Philip Linden: raiden... we don't raise prices."

Tomarrow rating people will go from 1L to 25L. What do you call that?

what, so my monthly real cash payments should go up? talk about a way to kill the business. Reducing the extra bit you get on your stipend doesn't take extra RL$$ out of your pocket you know (unless you are simply selling that bonus on GOM)

I am in favor of these changes for now and will wait and see how it all plays out. Too soon to judge.

That's funny. As if every SL user has voiced their opinion on the matter. I guess the people who really just don't care either way are being considered the uber rich folk. That'd be cool with me if I actually were uber rich. lol

Well I am a lil taken back by the Lindens choice of action, But all too many times i sit back & listen to every one Moan & complain that there are no good events to go too, or that the economy of Sl Suxx. Well here we go, the clubs with all the sex & nudity have gotten out of hand, I mean U can only play & pay for so much sex.

The retail that is out of control, the skins that cost 5k, clothing that is rediculusly high I mean who wants to pay 2k for an outfit? I can bearly justufy 500. Yea ppl need to be paid for thir time & effort but someof this is outof control. I feel bad for the poor newbs who can't even afford a new skin, or a sex new out fit. never mind the land prices that are rediculusly high Imean common 7 k for 512 sq M. like gimme a break!!

So ya I am upset as a club owner that we won't be getting our cash re-embursed, but again maybe this will help our economy or we will face a depression & no one will have cash & no one will post events & there will be no more jobs cause ppl can't afford to pay them. meh we will see.

Hey Lindens Just Don't take our dwell!!!

As for the rating system yea that is totaly abused I think 25 buck per rating will be good! as long as we are re-embersed that too!!

there is my 2 cents

I'm shocked. Why make a petition?!

I have taken an economics class too :D and I think these changes are going to be great! You can't expect SL to continue the exact way it is forever? Very few people seem to realise that the change in L$ in stipends and ratings is going to *RAISE THE VALUE OF THE L$* ... meaning ... *you get more RL money when you use GOM*.

I would be raging if LL took more RL$ from my account... should I start a petition for people to sign to make sure LL DON'T take extra monthly money from my RL$ credit card?!

cha!

No, not RL payments. I was referring to ingame charges, like submission costs , or taking a extra amount of stippend out of out payments.

I understand perfectly thanks. Its ignorant people like you that don't understand that SL is made up of its people, and a large portion of its people dislike these changes. You also don't understand that theres better ways to fix inflation then what they are suggesting. The ones who support the economic changes seem to be a very small, selfish/greedy/anti-social group, who does'nt care if Sl losses a large majority of its population. Now go find something productive to do, and stop wasting everyones time.

Raiden, why would greedy people support less money..?

because they are rich, and have enough money in SL. The prices of turning their already earned moneyinto RL money will go up, thus they get more RL money.

I think the changes are very good.
It even makes people rate for the right reasons too.
