That happened similar with IGE, except the other way around..
I was taking money from L$ and converting to USD.. a somewhat small amount.. I said "Now!" as the option and I was expecting within about 30 minutes, so I wait.. Of course, 30 minutes went by, so I decided to pay IGE Wheeling the money and send him/her a nice message saying I sent it.. 3 HOURS went by before I logged back into SL. And I recieved an IM and email from IGE. We didnt seem to recieve your money... wtf. Talked in live help, and it seems like a 10 year old was on.. How can i help u =) I talked to them and they, after 20 minutes of conversation, finally logged in, and found that I actually paid them.. So after getting off of my chest that they found it, they had the guts to say: "Just make sure u send an im to IGE Wheeling telling him tht u paid him." ![]() ![]() ![]() _____________________

Don't deal with this bunch of jokers. I know GOM are having problems, and I've used them successfully in the past but I trust them to get things fixed. IGE, on the other hand. are just a rubbish company employing people in god-knows-which Indian call centre to provide no service whatsoever. I knew the day would come when you and I agreed on something, Charlotte. ![]() Excellent post! I experienced the same scenario with them and refuse to ever go back. |

I got no notice or anything, I haven't had my wrist slapped. I've used IGE exclusively for over a year now for every game I play. I find thier staff to be curteous and helpful. My only real complaint is that they are in fact a lot slower than they were a year ago. When I first started using them, they promised 15 minute turnaround time for the "get it now" feature. But I agree they aren't even meeting the 30 minute garuntee now.
Still, I'd rather stay with someone I know and trust, then put money into a company who I hear lots of problems with. Even if that means paying a little extra. Plus I hate paypal anymore, I like the option of using my creditcard for payment without having to go through paypal. I might consider GOM when that happens, but definitly not until then. |

I also got screwed by IGE, I was fortunate to have read this thread before I invested a large sum (only invested 5K) and had it sent to my account. after 3 days, no balance increase on their behalf. I then decide to go to the site and track my order and to my (not soo surprised) self, find this.
"Order Tracking Currently, we didn't find find any order from you in our database" Isnt that nice >=(. (BTW, i had to come back and revise. the "find find" is a typo on their search engine.) I already had a bad feeling when a real person came to pick up the money. this was the conversation I had with this fellow. "IGE Wheeling: Hi, I am here for the pickup. Nucleus Baron: ok Nucleus Baron: just pay you? IGE Wheeling: sent to me IGE Wheeling: ok? Nucleus Baron: pay you correct Nucleus Baron: ? IGE Wheeling: yap just pay to me IGE Wheeling: Thank you, have a nice day." That was the end of that. there could not have been any mistake in his or my part as the transaction had been clearly established between us. What the hell went wrong??? Today, came in and decided to IM customer support to find out where my lil cents have gone to. this is what i got. "Please wait while we find an agent to assist you... You have been connected to Rony . Rony : Hello, how may I help you today? Customer: made a small order on thursday Customer: never got credited Rony : May I have the e-mail address used to place the order? I've used GOM a bunch. 100% painless.
I've used IGE maybe 3 times. Took about 30 - 40 min 2 x's, 3 min 1 x's and I think 10 min the first time. That was selling lindens for USD. Dunno about the other way around. When I've got a customer service hell appt. in my face, I climb the ladder of authority. If I'm not speaking to the person who can say "yes", I ask for the one that can. In this instance, I'd be looking for the one who might overlook my own urgencies and possible ignorance of the situation on the other side of the phone line, as in, maybe they were having technical difficulties, and the person you spoke with was overwhelmed/undertrained/unprepared/uninformed enough to not be able explain that they need a little more time to complete the transaction. One thing I didn't see, maybe I missed it, did they charge you their fee? If so, then you really need to start climbing out of the phone pool sweatshop at IGE and find a "yes" person. If not, then they're really not getting the concept of business, are they? They "dis-allowed" you from giving them your Sterling. Silly them. Or, they all, the company entire, could be all plotting to ruin your entire life by picking on unsuspecting online commerce "commiters", disallowing you the pleasure of transacting business with them. Every single last person employed at IGE. Yep. Naaaaah, not possible, there's always a gullible, honest, hardworking noob - see "The Firm", "Wall Street", "8 Men Out", ooooh that's Hollywood, nvm. They're all prolly a worthless waste of water, not worth insulting for their supposed lack of knowledge of your language when you call them, I'm sure in a calm, respectful and "looking to solve this" manner. Or was it the accent that threw you, I'm not sure? Oh, they said they were in India? You asked? Such a great, close relationship with a customer service agent, in my experience, brings extra-special attention and help. Oh, and cooperation and foul language ... those go hand in hand in my experience. Did you favor them with the same that you honored all of us with here? Might help show them who's who and who's got their wits (whatever type they may be) together! Best way to get folks on your side, shows command of the English language, careful vocabulary choice AND that you've read the TOS for forum usage! Wasn't that they'd read your tag in the forums and KNEW you'd understand and cooperate with them to bring the Capatists to their quivering knees? Couldn't be that? ![]() Socialism and cashing in and out of Lindens? ![]() Trying to buy up land to seperate yourself from your comrades? ![]() Xenophobes! Unite! Seperately! BRAVO!! SALUD!! After all, it’s your money floating around in cyberspace. As far as the language barrier goes, just as long as each party understands the other, language should not be an issue. Oh... and by the way, 2 e-mails later, IGE found my Lindens and sent the money it to my Pay Pal account. Perseverance paid off, but something I shouldn’t have to go through again. I went to Kermitts tringo vendor and it took 10 mins for the IGE guy to appear with my 15kSL... on a bank holiday. I also payed by paypal for which they warned that it might take longer to authorise the transaction. I'm not quite sure what you experienced but i think you're being a bit derogitory based on one bad purchase. |

Maybe alittle unfair to think they singled out Charlotte. I too have done I think 65 transactions or so with IGE never purchased always sold. Never have I had a issue that they did not promptly resolve. I think the stress imposed by needing it NOW may have added to it. Hope they resloved your issue. May I also suggest that next time you use GOM. Again I have never purchased here but, the customer service seems to be very prompt.
