Would you rather see greater sink fees or smaller stipends?

Increasing sinks will make content creation / advertising more expensive, I do not see how this will be good. I do like the sliding scale for hi rez texture uploads though. I say $250L for any texture over 256x256. Leave =<256 x 256 at $10L. I like the idea of eliminating the $50L per week stipend for any basic user over 1 or 2 months old. That will have given a new user plenty of time to 'test the waters' and make a few errors. I think LL would be foolish to tinker w/ premium stipends at this time as they would be fucking with their paying customer base.

From: Kris Ritter How about a fixed fee for bug reporting? That way, all the users that have the most problems and are burdening LL with having to fix these issues instead of implementing new features are helping to offset the cost involved in dealing with them, if they continue to insist on reporting their problems to LL and expecting solutions! People would stop reporting bugs in world and start reporting them by email and phone calls. Messy.

I still say "Bring back the popularity scoreboard!" don't pay the ratings bonus... but allow people to recruit/compete for vanity's sake and burn L$'s out of existence in the process! -- Prop: 1200 -- Let PREMIUM accounts waive their stipend for more land allocation.

From: Anna Bobbysocks I'd rather see greater sink fees for uploading.
New users have it hard enough... time to tax the older residents a bit more. I've always thought that uploading textures is way too cheap. I think you should be able to upload as many as you want for testing, but in an hour they vanish. Then once you've got your final, it should cost L$1,000 (maybe L$10,000) to upload that one and save it permanently. Let's sink some L$ out of circulation and get some tangible costs associated with content production at the same time.

For strictly selfish reasons, naturally! =)

From: Jessica Robertson Ranma. Lets say the Value of the LDollar reaches 500 Lindens per U.S. and you receive your 500 L every week, it's worth 1 dollar Secenario 2 The Value of the L Dollar is 350 Lindens per U.S. dollar and, but you only receive 400 L every week, it's worth 1 dollar and 14 cents. Scenerio 3 The Value of the L Dollar is restored to 250 Lindens per U.S. (Which was at one time Phillip Linden's target rate), but you only receive 300 Lindens every week, it's worth 1 dollar and 20 cents. Do you see that by restoring the value of the L against the U.S. dollar, even if it means a stipend reduction, you are not loosing money? Also understand that if inflation continues, content creators will have to adjust their prices higher so that they will be able to continue making their tier, so if noone does anything about inflation, your 500 linden dollar weekly stipend might buy you, a sock, not two, just one, maybe. It's not just "YOUR" ... it's "ALL", "EVERYONE'S"... Yours, Mine, The Content Creators, The Land Barons, The Clubbie, The Shopper, All, everyones. Does not work, the agrement I made was between Linden Labs and myself. The other residents have nothing to do with this agrement. I disagree with your viewpoint. In any case the agrement can only be changed by Linden Labs and myself in agrement. It is a binding contract on them to deliver what was promised in the agrement. Linden Labs droping my stipend is a breach of contract.

I favor a time limit on stipends for basic accounts, perhaps three months. The majority of people will not be able to farm because of the need for new credit card numbers, e-mails, etc.
Although new people do support a segment of the content creators, it is not accurate to say that they support all of it, or even most of it. The basic account stipend needs to serve its purpose - to give new people a chance to get an idea of what SL is and if they will like it or not. If after the 3 months, they want to stay as a free member, then they should buy $L.
The premium stipend is a harder issue because you do have the reasonable expectation on the part of premium members to get the $L 500 as part of what they pay for. The reality though is that all your tier goes into paying LL's bills, none of it goes into making or purchasing $L. Some kind of adjustment is going to occur I predict.
As for sinks. New additional sinks would be good. I'm loving the vanity name change idea, however, LL is unlikely to charge $L for anything that costs them staff hours. Sinks need to be automated and scalable.
Raise the upload fees by much and you impact the content creators, especially new content creators. Those cost will simply get passed on to the consumer.

From: Jopsy Pendragon I still say "Bring back the popularity scoreboard!" don't pay the ratings bonus... Why not? So long as the ratings bonus is nerfed so that it's never more than the money spent for the points received (eg, rating points get used up and no longer count as part of your bonus after you've recieved 50% of their original cost) it will remain a net sink, but still give people an incentive to work for points even if they're never going to show on the scoreboard.
