How up to date is the db? Is it the result of a one-time scan some time ago, or is it updated regularly? Is it likely to include private islands and "hidden" properties, or just the main grid?

Also, I ran the name of the land baron most love/hated in SL and only found three (3) pages of ten links each. Does this mean that such land baron only owns 30 parcels? That strikes me as low, considering the "Leaderboard" listing of acres owned.

Inquiring title searchers want to learn more about this intriguing service.

I would hazzard a guess that the search does not include group owned land on the main grid or private islands.

Just ran "Hiro Queso" on that search tool ... came up with one (1) property.

Obviously, the tool is not without its flaws, and Hiro's theory may be right.

What you call a flaw might mean that its intended purpose doesn't match what you're using it for. Or that it ain't finished yet. I don't see anything that states what it's supposed to do. It says 'Search The Metaverse'. Well, thats misleading anyway. SL isn't the metaverse by a longshot. That's just a catchy marketing type name. It also says 'coming soon' to some links. Which indicates it's probably early days. The only other snippet of information is "21,448 places (63,747,456 m2) currently indexed." which is a clear statement that it doesn't include all of Second Life's land by a long chalk.

Thanks for the link. It didn't help in this case but may in others. It showed the person as only owning 1 512m2 and I know they own much much more.

I was mainly looking to trade some land and wanted to see what, if any, land they owned was connected to any land I owned. That way I could make my offer more attractive to them by offering them land next to there own thus they could join them and make a bigger joined lot. I found this to be what many players like to do.

This is no big deal and I can get the info I seek by doing a little leg work, but I appreciate everyones input. I didn't mean to start any controversial topic here :)

Thanks.

No biggie. It wasn't your fault. We just have a knack for twisting things in a certain direction. Anyhoo, it's been entertaining :p
