If churn is good, why have I, at almost 19 months in SL, spent about 5k this week on bits and bobs? As a newbie it's true I would run out with each week's stipend any buy something, and try not to spend it all. Now I keep more in my account as a 'working reserve' than I ever had as a newbie so if I see something I like I can buy it.
OK, I'm a shopper and not everyone is. I don't shop each week either. But looking back to my stipend only days, I've done 10 weeks worth of shopping this week, and I'm going to be buying more, soon.
Churn may or may not be the root of all evil, but your analysis seems a little flawed.

From: Reitsuki Kojima .I can't believe nobody else has realized that Jamie is an intentional parody. A parody of what a decent person should be, you mean? Parody or not, I find the practices this person has made extremely disgusting. The fact is that there is a real person behind Jamie, and he/she thinks it is funny to write all these incredibly absurd topics about bogus economics. Frankly, given the past history of this account, it fails to amuse me.

From: Sarg Bjornson A parody of what a decent person should be, you mean? Nah. It's much less subtle than that. Which makes me surprised more people don't get it. The joke isn't particularly funny, but I can see it, at any rate.

What should such fellows as I do crawling between earth and heaven? We are arrant knaves, all; believe none of us.

Absurd? Hardly. Listen to me and you'll make much money.

From: Jamie Bergman So now its a crime to be a Capitalist in SecondLife? I think Philip Linden would beg to differ - he's completely for building a capitalistic society- and thanks to him Capitalism flourishes within the confines of SL. No, capitalism isn't a crime. Neither is leeching off a great freebie maker, reselling them, whilst pretending you made them, continuing to portray yourself as a semi-competent business(wo)man, even when SL Residents spread the word of your leechings, and overall piss off a lot of respected and important people. but it's looked down upon, and i know plenty of people who wish this to be a crime. Tell you what Jamie, how about you show us the difference between YOUR c-tech, and the one i have festering in my inventory? PS... I can't seem to find anything on churn.. what IS it?
