It's been overshadowed by "OMGZORS, 1.9 tomorrow is going to destroy everything, sky falling, watch for falling albino hippos" speculations.

And yet we prevail.

Start selling Lindens at 285, so we can panic.

No people, I am really concerned...

Someone could have fallen down a well or something and now we will be without reliable guidance on the economy.

Maybe other nutzy peeps will step into the breach and fill this much required role.

For the zillionith time when LindeX came to be Philip wanted to see 2.50 har de har har. Today we are at 2.81 kinda headed in the wrong direction there. I think that says a lot about SL the value is going down not up as anticipated. Gloom and doom? Dunno about that but it is starting to suck around here.

Linden value isnt going up cuz people are selling mass amounts of L at really cut prices to sell it fast. if these people would stop doing so the linden value would increase pretty much!! i mean the fact of the matter is we control what linden is worth if we sell it at a lower value we hurt ourselves and others. A major problem is that alot of people are getting involved in SL these days jsut to make a quick buck that is what is really hurting the economy more then anything. that and camping chairs We are basically giving the peopel that are out to make a quick buck the means to do it. when a newbie can make more off a camping chair in a week then the stipend is worth there is a problem with that. Hopefully the developer incentive down drain will help get rid of this problem. But i do find it to be a bit blahsay to even continue this. I play seoncd life for fun not money that is all i gotta say!!

yes updates tend to be rough after being implemented but they are there to ultimately help. 1.9 looks to be a step in the right direction to lessen lag in SL.

The big question is why are they selling them so low?

So, if I got this figured right, if I buy 1,000 of these shirts and they become collectors items, I could then sell them for L$20 each and make L$10k profit! Coolies!

Where do I place my order?

Because someone put 6,000,000 Ls at 278 which caused a big road block. Who's going to put Lindens at 278 when you'll have to wait behind 6 million Lindens first.

Whilst out exploring last night I noticed my local lagfest had changed from L$3/10 minutes to L$5/20 minutes, so it looks like we may soon see more changes to the amounts the chairs pay out.

It's a pity nobody was actually there to appreciate me wandering around the club playing "Scotland the Brave" on the set of bagpipes I had just purchased. Oh well.

Camping chairs have gone down as the hanging of the Developer incentive going bye bye slowly is being implemented =P. Hence the people that used to get a bigger payout from popular list arnt and well its just not worth it cuz they used to almsot make back the L now they wont >.>. In all seriousness this will help some but some places are gunna do it at lower amounts to still increase traffic sadly. 5/20 = out to about 1/4 which is getting less eventually it may phase out that people just stop doing it we can only help. And yes thats what happens is people are putting large quanities up for sale at a lower value and its hurting everyone that wants to sell for a higher value cuz they are having to wait thank you for understanding that point :D

They are selling so low cuz its a huge quanity and they want fast cash they dont want to wait for it to sell. Im just wondering if they realize that they hurt the economy doing so =/!

How does it "hurt the economy" for a player to sell whatever quantity of L$ at what ever price they consider reasonable?

If by "hurt the economy" you mean "lower the price at which I was hoping to sell my L$", I'd probably agree, but I think that is a far stretch from "hurting" the economy.

One thing that gets me is the "magic number" of 250/1.

There's nothing magic about that; it's what would have been preferred, but nothing's necessary about it. SL would get along just fine at 2500/1; if you're concerned about making tier you'd just add a zero to all your prices.

Thank you for the "down and dirty" lesson on "Inflation 101."

This is what a lot of the pro-stipend folk do not understand.

In essence, they may be keeping their precious $L50 stipend but as a consequence, ultimately paying an extra $L100 for that item they've been saving to buy.

I'll give it the benefit of the doubt that there are good arguments to be made for both points of view.

The only diference being the perspective from which its veiwed.

The anti Stipend residents do not offer anything in return except for there own self interests. The pro Stipend residents are only looking after their own self interests. I don’t see prices dropping if the Stipends vanish. I only see their profits increasing.

There are so many threads crying about the Stipends, I offer the following to go along with their whine!

An economy in which profits are increasing overall is a bad thing?

You'd make a better case if you stated...you don't see prices dropping NOR profits increasing.
